Team for Wigan

I have always said ...this is the team i want to start but its never the team Pardew actually starts..so this is the team i think Pardew will start this Sat....

I think Santon might get a start as its an 'easier' team and with all the speculation regarding Simpsons future...

He might start Ameobi ahead of Best but i think its most likely Ameobi will come on as a sub as Best hasnt done anything wrong....

I would prefer to see Ben Arfa behind Ba instead of Best with Marveaux ahead of Obertan but i dont think this will happen until we lose a game...

whats everyone think?....

 

IMO we'll be unchanged, as always.

Maybe, just maybe Santon will play.

 

Can always hope! be a good game to let him loose in...they havent really got any testing wingers so we will see what he like going forward too...

 

Would love Pardz to ring the changes in a game we should be winning and give Santon, HBA & Marv a run out, though he'll probably play them in CC midweek instead.

By the way I went on the Wigan board & the Wigan fan seemed very nice so don't think we'll bother wumming them

No way does Ameobi deserve to start. He came on, played great and scored an awesome goal but you've got to do more than 20 minutes hard work before you displace Best, a player who has been consistently good for us so far this season and despite what some people think, also against Tottenham.

Pardew's told us not to read anything into the fact that it was Simpson who was brought off for Santon on Sunday, citing that Simmo had a 'tough week', but I can't help but do so. Looks like so far Simmo's having another mare this week with supposed uncertainty about his future and the regrettable poor health of his baby daughter. I think Pardew might rest him and chuck Santon in against an 'easier' team at home to see how he does. From what I saw against Spurs the lad looks more than capable of stepping up.

I think Pardew will play Obertan again although with a player like Marveaux warming the bench I'd have lost patience with the lad already really. Saturday will give Ober a chance to flex his muscles in a game where we should dominate possession and territory, and if he's the weak link in our attack again I'd drop him in the next league game for Marveaux who should be getting a start in the cup against Blackburn, especially if Marv does well in that. Would love to see Marveaux and Jonas switching up wings during a game, could cause carnage if used correctly.

Ben Arfa will have to wait for now for his start as Ba and Best are still playing too well. He looked fairly sharp when he came on but needs to stop trying so hard - we all know he's a godly footballer. I'd give him a longer sub appearance this time, maybe half an hour giving one of the centre forwards a bit of a rest.

 

I'm not worried about their team too much, apart from Al Habsi. He's a good 'keeper, and since we're playing them, he'll play the game of his life!

 

Their team is poor. Di Santo is their top scorer with 3 deflected goals, says it all really.

 

It's saying something when people would rather have Santon at RB and keep Raylor on the left!

 

Ameobi shouldn't start. I think we'll be unchanged.

If we're going to make a change in midfield, it should be Ober off, Marv on. Marv has done great in the cup and in the reserves, he deserves a start over Ben Arfa.

 

We'll be unchanged. If anything, Shola may start..

 

I remember him playing a cracking pass to Cabaye at Villa, his deliveries are far better and more consistent and seems to want to beat his man instead of playing it back.

 

Are they Hoadie?

 

Purely because I think it's important we start giving players premier league game time, but also don't think we should change too much....

I think Ben Arfa needs some game time and more than 20-30 mins. I know pardew has stated that he will play centrally but for me I would replace obertan with him and see how it goes. But definately give Marv some game time at least 20 mins to show what he can do.

 

Ben Arfa is pure class though. We need to get his rustiness out of the way by getting him on the pitch.

 

Wigan should be an easy win, no disrespect but it should be. If we're gonna start some of these players, it should be saturday.
