This ain't a dig at you mate but most of these tory ****ers are virulently anti refugee ... just like the tories were against Jewish refugees in the 20s and 30s while they were desperately trying to escape fascism.

While working class people trade unionists, socialists and community groups were fighting Mosleys Blackshirt fascists the Tory government were sending in the police to attack those opposing the fascists.

Trade unionists, anti fascists and socialists were victimised, persecuted , threatened and punished for fighting fascism in the Spanish civil war in the mid 1930s.

The Tories of the day along with most of the ruling class didn't give a **** about fascism until it blatantly threatened the British Empire.

There is a fantastic book by Angus Calder called the myth of the blitz which documents how rationing did not happen in the rich restaurants and how the tube stations were only open during the blitz cos working class people broke into them cos they were actually bolted shut!

While the war was on the British kept troops in India, Africa and the Caribbean to oppress people so they could keep control of their empire.

I think it is this stuff that other posters are critiquing and criticising imo.

Ordinary people deserve our respect for stopping fascism but the Tories past and present do not.

In defence of Brexit voters, you can have voted for it, seen this coming and still think it's not the fault of Brexit, exactly.
Is it a result of leaving? Yes, that's got a lot to do with it.
Is it more a result of nothing being planned for this predictable outcome? I think so.

Project Fear, as it was labelled, set out a bunch of possible negatives for leaving.
The government could've planned ahead and either negated or mitigated a bunch of them.
They failed to do so. Hardly surprising, given who we're talking about, but it's largely on them.

The fact that this government just so happens to be made up of a base of people who wanted out of the EU so their hedge funds wouldn't be subject to EU tax rules, headed by somebody they thought was going to be an easily-controlled puppet but turned out to be a vainglorious sociopath who when they aren't skiving off on holiday is thinking of ways to build yet more monuments to themselves, might have caused these issues to get even worse

So, when's the Garden Bridge across the Irish Sea going to be built?

Tory MP actually says "They all look the same to me" after being unable to tell Nadhim Zahawi and Sajid Javid apart
    https://www.theguardian.com/politic...ray-nadhim-zahawi-sajid-javid-asian-ministers

Yes, it is the same James Grey who, last month, said a bomb should have been planted in Annalise Dodds' office
    https://inews.co.uk/news/politics/tory-mp-sorry-joking-planting-bomb-labour-chairs-office-1219305

And, yes, it is the same James Grey who claimed Remembrance Day wreaths on his expenses
    https://www.gazetteandherald.co.uk/...claim-money-back-for-remembrance-day-wreaths/

Which, of course, is the same James Grey who was having an affair with a member of the Countryside Alliance while his wife was battling breast cancer
    https://www.swindonadvertiser.co.uk/news/922696.mp-had-affair-while-wife-battled-cancer/

Who, naturally, is the same James Grey who was a co-chairman of Leave Means Leave
    https://web.archive.org/web/20171024153425/http://www.leavemeansleave.eu/who-we-are/

    Sounds delightful...

His lawyer has, hopefully, explained to him that this doesn't mean he's now being ordered to stalk people...right?
