If I didn't have the lovely Mrs Godders:emoticon-0115-inlov to look after me I would have been in a care home and in all probability would be dead now due to this negligent government's treatment of the elderly during the pandemic.

Now it is a question of whether I will be able to heat my home and survive this winter.

Never mind having or not having a Christmas. I just don't want to die of the cold FFS.

Well follow the money to see who’s best interests they have at heart

    C4 is publicly owned

The Guardian is a liberal paper that aims to be independent and isn’t beholden to political or commercial power, in its own words ...

“Guardian Media Group is a global news organisation that delivers fearless, investigative journalism - giving a voice to the powerless and holding power to account.

Our independent ownership structure means we are entirely free from political and commercial influence. Only our values determine the stories we choose to cover – relentlessly and courageously.”

But of course if you choose to believe none of the media tells the truth then this won’t help

I'm probably generalising here, but most people read/watch/listen to/generally follow the parts of 'the media' that broadly correlate to people's own opinions. In short, 'the media tells the truth' when that truth agrees with one's own view, and does not tell the truth, when it differs from one's view.

For other bleedin' obvious statements, please feel free to check my other posts.

I disagree, the guardian etc. is constantly posting stuff such as “men can get pregnant” and other such “woke” nonsense. I see this agenda of disrupting the nuclear family as at least as harmful than the right wing agenda of stopping immigration, although both are as stupid as each other.

The weird thing that has happened is that “the left” has just become the side that favours more and more government control under the pretence of caring about the people, from what I can see.

The true left evaporated long ago and has been replaced by champagne socialism.

The post above is correct: follow the money.

That sentence will lead you to the heart of everything that is wrong today: follow the money.

I'll admit to being a regular Guardian reader amongst other publications but haven't seen any pregnant men articles. Feel free to post links to those and other "woke nonsense"

Edit: found this doesn't really match your claim, shame, never mind. https://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2018/mar/22/story-one-mans-pregnancy-trans-jason-barker

woke - adjective; alert to injustice in society, especially racism. is this woke nonsense? Or perhaps this "an offensive term used to denigrate those campaigning against discrimination."

Can’t disagree with the part about the left. In the past the left, despite never actually being in power, organised things which actually benefited working people: the Workers Educational Association, the Co-operative Movement, anti-fascist and anti-racist movements and many other things.

The only time we have ever had a truly left wing government in this country was under Attlee, which created the Welfare State and the NHS, both of which have been steadily eroded by both Tory and Labour governments ever since, mainly due to their being completely under the influence of big business.

Shockingly poor judgement in her choice of character witnesses. It was doomed from the start, with this triumvirate of integrity backing her.

    https://www.islingtongazette.co.uk/news/crime/mp-claudia-webbe-guilty-of-harassment-8410104

Paul Hynes QC, defending, read out a string of character references from figures including former Islington Council leader Richard Watts, former Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn, ex-shadow chancellor John McDonnell and former shadow home secretary Diane Abbott.

I reckon he means this version

In literal terms, being woke refers to being awake and not asleep. One Urban Dictionary contributor defines woke as “being aware of the truth behind things ‘the man’ doesn’t want you to know”. Meanwhile, a concurrent definition signals a shift in meaning to “the act of being very pretentious about how much you care about a social issue”.

Now you need to balance the books and bring up dirt surrounding Johnson and his pathetic cabinet as you seem totally one- sided in the things you post.

Yes! And to be blunt it is another pathetic attempt by It's Only a Game to belittle Díanne Abbott, with undertones of him being a rascist. He could restore my faith if he could leave Diane Abbott out of all future criticisms. There are bigger fish.to target.than her.

That's a ridiculous comment, and one you should apologise for imo.

Apologise for what? I will if IOAG removes his comment in his link referring to Diane Abbott as a winess for the defence.

Libby has a point Ides. You can’t call people racist when all they have done is to malign 3 people, one of whom is black. I suggest you retract that.

Sorry, what gives you the right to post your own baseless claims while belittling someone else pointing out just one of Diane Abbott’s many proven shortcomings? You need to get a grip.

So what was the Diane Abbott shortcoming that was pointed out? What are the many shortcomings? What are you getting a grip of?
