Sorry I wasn’t trying to imply that he should be judged on that game. He definitely deserves more chances. Just that he’s on a par with the others you mention. What we have at the moment is 4 or 5 strikers who work really hard but just need a bit more luck in front of goal. We’re much better defensively. The strikers are showing confidence in front of goal. So long as they don’t let their heads drop I’m sure we’ll see a turnaround over the next 5 games!
When Adams first arrived he seemed to be unlucky in front of goal. Keepers making ridiculous saves or defenders with last ditch blocks etc. After awhile though you have to question whether it’s luck or he just isn’t a goalscorer. His hold up play is good and merits a role in the team, but if that is not top class (like it hasn’t been this season) then it’s hard to justify his place in the side
Yeah, Che has scored a goal every 320 minutes in the PL, and he has played quite a few minutes at this point. There are a number of things he does well, but his goalscoring record is not a matter of bad luck...he's just not a PL quality finisher. Played alongside a good finisher like Ings that wasn't the end of the world, but in a side that lacks goals, having a striker that doesn't produce them is a real issue.
Che has missed a lot of chances in his previous two seasons here but the team on the whole is not creating enough for the forwards this season. His link up play, vision and passing are an asset to the team and I would like to see how he goes with Stuey back and Tella or Moussa on the left. Two creative wide men would surely provide more chances for the front pair.
Why do refs do that? England corner and the Hungarian defender is holding onto Stones. Instead of letting the corner be taken and give a penalty, he stops it so he can have a chat with both players, even though Stones was the innocent party. Just don’t understand that.
Just seen the half-time replay, his expression suggests 'oh bullocks, this is not going to end well'. Agreed, boot was very high.
I am opposed to overtly arming the Police, but in this instance, but a couple of flamethrowers could have sorted out this ****ing scum.
Southgate still doing well overall, but he is no tactician as we know. Grealish was our only player getting in behind and he was subbed first (looked somewhat pissed off as well). Sterling then subbed for Henderson when needing a goal. Doesn't help that Kane is currently playing at about 10% of his ability, something isn't right with him at the moment. Still we should qualify bar slipping up to Albania at home and a sequence of unfortunate results.
Cue an Albanian goal from Broja, leaving Saints fans with a dilemma: Do we cheer because it's Broja, or look downhearted because England let Albania score?
