Newcastle will look to raid Spanish giants Barcelona and Real Madrid for a trio of signings following the incredible £305million takeover of the club, it has been claimed. A consortium fronted by Amanda Staveley completed the purchase of the Magpies from Mike Ashley last Thursday.
Amazing what a week does…..if you asked any fan this time last week if they would take him, they’d be ****ing jizzing!! Now he’s not good enough…..I think fans need to be realistic at the beginning of all this, JWP and the likes are where we will be shopping until we reach the next level, we might make the odd coup on the way but until we are competitive at the top we can forget about Mbappe, Haaland etc
I hope not. That'll help them out financially. **** them. Unless we're signing their best young players which I doubt
While I get the clamor for big name signings and although I think we need some big hitters initially to push us away from trouble this year - personally I'd hope we'd go and spend a chuck of any budget on a crop of youngsters as of next summer. A spine of U21 players to build for the future. Players like Lamperty at Leicster, Eze off Palace, Harvey Barnes and Harvey Elliott, few of the Arsenal youngsters who aren't getting as much game time as they'd like, City and Chelsea have a host of youngsters that'll not make it through into their first team or are on loans at clubs while they develop. I'm not talking Jude Bellingham and those types although that'd be nice but a set of good standard EPL players who'll be able to grow with the club.
I'm more than happy paying big wages in lieu of transfer fees to top players. It makes sense. For quite a few of them we'll then add value and be able to trade up when the time is right.
There are some very interesting free's next summer and PSG have shown the way to beat FFP - don't pay a transfer fee, just pay them a fraction of the cost of a transfer fee for the player in way of a "signing bonus"
Lol I'm enjoying this general consensus that all other clubs are powerless to the fact that if we want one of their players it's a done deal.
I don't think any of the top 6 teams in England will be selling to Newcastle United any time soon, so we can rule out any of their players.
