I have only ever heard the 8m figure but 4m is a insane amount considering he was only ever going to be sacked from the position. The old owners were simply gash at contracts, Pardew one is a prime example, letting Perez go for buttons.

I think they haven't instantly sacked him because most of the coaching staff are his boys and will walk, so they need to keep them in place so training can take place. Otherwise it would be Jones on his bill setting up cones.

 

What’s in anyway dignified about sacking him and then making him go through the ignominy of having to be in the dugout in front of 50k fans who largely hate his guts?
