**** off Jamie, that's the rule. Nobody, apart from us, cried when Lovren was done like a kipper a few years back by Spurs in the same circumstances. 'I don't like the interpretation of the rule'. That ****ing is the rule, ****ing airhead himbo.

I actually don’t mind some of wengers plan lols

said for years the internationals should be pushed together at the end of the season

in the gaps where Int breaks are place fixtures
There should be no difference in time

however the injuries (unless mega serious) only impact the club and country fairly

if that happened I would probably enjoy the internationals but I spend most of my time worrying that the players won’t return fit !

Yup. Said on her numerous times would be far better. International managers surely would prefer it as well. Means can have players for a month all to themselves and implement their own tactics rather than have 2 days training before a match. Would also mean you can pick players on actual form for a whole qualifying period rather than someone play well in 1 game and then not play for club for 3 months and when have debate of if they should be picked for club.

France Spain game. Mbappe was offside but because Spain defender tried to block the pass to him, he got tiny touch which then meant mbappe was onside as he made an conscious effort to play the ball.

Same thing that happened to villa v city last year when mings chested it down while gundogan was behind him and then became onside. Stupid rule

If the international morons would ot take advantage of the situation then there would be less issues.

First off this nations league ****.... someone dared call this Johnston's paint trophy as france completing the triple crown (they even forgot Italy won the ****ing euros)

This thing was supposed to end friendlies and only be played between tournaments not interfere with qualifiers.

Second teams were given 2 full weeks of our entertainment to play their meaningless drivel.

What do they do? Take 4/5 days to train and improve their games. No pack in an extra game so they can have a.meaningless friendly as well.

Third and finally why the **** are teams playing San Marino, Andorra, Gibraltar etc etc etc etc.

Have qualifying tournament ffs. So sick of hearing how great england are beating a bunch of painters. Apparently foden is now a quarterback like some ancient yank and sancho is a genius.. apparently.

It is indeed a stupid rule, and I said so after the Lovren/Kane incident. It is, however, a rule, and not an interpretation of a rule, as espoused by Jamie Redknapp. If the goal had been disallowed because the official thought it was a 'light touch', they'd have been crucified for not doing their duty. Lazy gobshites like Redknapp get paid a fortune for, seemingly, not knowing the rules of the game. I like Gary Neville as a pundit, but he too seems to make up the rules as he goes along.

plus has delightedly assed the term "scabby" as somehow an acceptable phrase in football analysis.

he should really go focus on steel painting as a new career seems to care more about that than anything

    fair play to the lad.

Hopefully footballers might start breaking the silence shortly so the young kids kicking about in academies are not doing so hiding themselves for fear.

sadly this is still the same stone wall in football.

I see Courtois has spoken out accusing football governing bodies of prioritising money over player welfare. "This game is just a money game, we have to be honest about it."

He may have only just noticed but at least he has noticed.

A person's sexuality isn't anybody else's business. He said he's had no abuse thrown at him while officiating. I think, sadly, that may be about to change. There's a reason players haven't come out while still playing. Was he brave or unwise?

I do laugh when I see this type of thing. 70 to 80% of his clubs finances are spent keeping players like him happy. The players and their agents are just as bad as the authorities that he’s complaining about. Imo, it’s a cesspool of greed in its entirety and I’m increasingly ashamed that I fuel it.

I think its positive he is able to say he's had a good experience. Unfortunately the LGBTQ+ community still needs people to step up and give positive examples that its ok to be themselves as its not still a non issue.

the question is now what minority of morons will act disgracefully but rather how many young kids are in youth teams now suffering cos they can't be themselves for fear of being turfed out?

I cannot call it unwise. We've got to ensure its not proven so by collective action as society in general.

the pressure on players must be immense and thinking about it it would start at a young teen age or earlier (i dunno) and run til they are 35? or longer if thy felt they wanted a managers job or a coaching job. its unfiar to a 12 year old today to say well there you go suffer through now for 20 years and you'll be fine after.

You make a good point and I agree. I think Courtois is adding an extra layer. The amount of games and made-up competitions is punishing player's bodies and also their domestic teams are suffering as a result.

A person’s sexuality should also not be something that they feel they have to hide, like a dirty secret. Players haven’t yet been brave enough to come out whilst still playing & that’s an awful indictment on the game and it’s supporters. So yes it’s brave, and he’s now odds on to being subjected to homophobic abuse, but without people like him being brave enough to come out publicly, then nothing will ever change & players will still not feel they can be honest about who they are in 2 decades time.

One of the things that irks me (and this isn't meant as a dig at you) is the narrative constantly thrown out there of 'the LGBTQ community' as if it's a real thing, a place that all LGBTQ people inhabit, all looking alike, thinking alike etc. Every person is an individual with individual traits, characteristics and challenges, I don't think it helps nailing your colours to a mast based solely on your sexuality. It's just one part of who you are. There are cracks appearing already as those who identify as LGB say they don't want to be included in the longer acronym. Some of the behaviour of the collective under the rainbow flag is pushing people away rather than gaining support. It's the risk you take when you are putting yourselves forward as one homogeneous group.

As for the referee coming out, I'd say he's being brave but not in a Caitlyn Jenner or Philip Schofield way. I just hope it leads to positive things. It's sad that it needs attention drawing to it in the first place.
