Realistically we’re looking at ‘best of the rest’ signings in January, ie the better players at sides that finished outside the top 10 last season, bar Leeds. When you look at CBs at those teams he’s among the best. Physically dominant with bags of PL experience. A yes for me.

It's just me I admit. I hate the Prem. Every time we are promoted it's a disaster. In the Championship I got a £15 ticket and a good chance of seeing a cracking game, not trying to hang on for a point. The standard of football is ok. The Prem is Murdoch's diabolical love child.

I’m getting far too carried away here but does anybody think they’d buy up the Arena site (still for sale if I’m not mistaken?) and redevelop it to a similar Etihad-like campus?

I would love to see United get on board with Falcons, Eagles, the womens team etc and build a proper smart sports campus in that area. Be huge for the city (but that is years away and like I said, getting far too carried away)
