Hey, you're the ones who are dropping down the Utd pecking order. "We've got Utd away this weekend?" "You going up to Newcastle?" "No, the other lot."
Nobody's going to call them United mate. Maybe Cabala or Harem but not United. What does it mean for the likes of Arsenal and Spurs who are already struggling to break in to the top 4 or even the top 6? If Arsenal and Spurs are just outside the Top 4, say they're aiming for 5th and 6th, I see that as the first stage of Newcastle's progression and target. So they're competing for the Arsenal and Spurs spots in the short term (before coming for us )
You're two points ahead of us, you haven't played anyone and we're ****. If they're coming for us, then they're coming for you at the same time. They'll probably hire a better manager than you, for a start. Pretty much by default...
Yeh 2 points after 7 games. That's what you're judging this on? If you think we're in any way comparable you're being a bit deluded mate. Look I'm in no doubt eventually Newcastle will be pushing us and the the other 3 clubs for Top 4 and hopefully (from my point of view league titles and other trophies). You have to simply accept that they'll be stepping all over your lot to get there.
Are top players really want to go to the North East to play? I think they'll be a solid PL team getting regular Europa and pushing top 4 at best.
Oh, you're still stuck in the Fergie years. I didn't realise. You're not even the biggest club in Manchester any more. Catch up.
It's a fair point but I remember with City first the mercenaries came, then they started breaking into top 4, won an FA Cup and success brought the players needed to push on further. I can see similar happening at Newcastle i.e. mercenaries will come for the money and iff they can turn that into a trophy and showcasing themselves in the CL then it's possible.
