Maybe if it was another club. But I suspect Watford fans are pretty immune by now to their managerial announcements. At least one other manager will be in charge of Watford before the season is out, maybe even two. It's just how they work.
The Pozzos very much brought an Italian sensibility to club ownership in the Premier League, that's for sure. I'd probably place higher odds on Ranieri being the manager at the end of this season after having been fired around Christmas and reappointed in March, versus the odds on him getting through the campaign unscathed.
Almost certainly. Another club to blow us out of the water financially - which is almost all the others anyway. Even in the short term it is bad as they will just be able to go after our targets and offer more Really hard to see this as anything other than a massive negative
Plus they will probably sack Bruce and spend money in January meaning they'll likely stay up relatively comfortably in the end which obviously increases our chances of going down.
I wonder if this has been in the works (under investigation) for months and explains why no one came in for him in the summer ? Although I can’t see how other clubs would know
Who knows, maybe we will attract a decent owner at some point rather than the horde of asset strippers that have been linked so far. Saints are up for a cheaper price than Newcastle and someone worthwhile may decide we are worth a punt as the world reopens, lets just hope we don't get funded with blood money like the Geordies are about to be. With a Saudi owner there is always the risk that state sanctions could come into play at some point, although I recognize they are one of this countries 'allies' for now.
TBH I'd be happy to look the other way if the Saudi's came in to buy us. If Ralph had wealthy owners backing him we'd be flying up the table.
Wonder if Newcastle will become another club like Man City and are up there every year. Annoying if so as the only realistic league reward for clubs like Saints for an exceptional season is to grab a european spot and there are only 7 of them! I wouldn't even mind if the "top clubs" buggered off to a super league - so long as they didn't try and stay in the premier league too.
I'd be horrified if it was us. Good luck to them though. It will upset the yank owners so it's good in my book.
