For me i have to say that there are two important things here.
1. fans join this and not their own clubs baords are i think we want inter club discussion... sometimes... we don't want narrow biased, boring debates
2. that said we do want a place where we don't have to hear from all and sundry on every single thread no matter what the topic, epscially if the OP is trying to make a genuine effort and you get fans from 4 other clubs come on and offer nothing but rubbish.
we all know we don't really find good debate or sometimes any debate on our own club forums as its all one sided BUT having the ability on here to tell a guy trying it on to go do one is needed. You can't have a debate if 10 posts in its the same old your club is **** mine is great and vice versa pissing contest.

MITO, it's a fine balancing act. I agree that a discussion between our own fans will get stale. Also it is good to hear the opinions of fans of other clubs. When it appears to go wrong is when visitors invade the board purely for their own purposes.
We have had a history of United fans deliberately attempting to turn the discussion to United irrespective of the topic of the thread or, acting as guardian angels at any reference (no matter how passing) to United. Now I'm not saying that some Liverpool fans did not do that on their board. Neither am I condoning some of the stuff that KPR/EMF posted. That's why I'm calling for more moderation. More power for the Moderators to take decisive action if required, no matter where the thread originated. Also, more moderation on behalf of the posters themselves - and yes I am including myself in that!

I'm an old codger too! Been a Liverpool supporter since early 60's. I stayed away from joining any other site after 606 shut because I got to hate 606 in the end - apart from our pub threads! I haven't contributed much to this site since joining but I do read a lot.
Skylarker is one of the better posters. I had a few words to say on the Suarez/Evra debate (all clean, I don't like name-calling) and I hope I haven't added to what you are all calling the forum going down hill. I do like a good discussion and maybe I do carry it on past it's sell-by date (sorry!) but I have noticed there are some who just like to trot out the anti-LFC as often as possible on every thread about anything to do with Liverpool, so it seems there aren't many threads were the LFC fans can get some 'in-house' discussion going without the spoilers turning up.
As already stated by others, you won't find a site without wums.
