I think they would not be very intelligent if smaller crowds meant a club had a bigger fanbase. And they would have factor in they have no competition from world famous rugby clubs whilst Hull is a rugby town, innit?
Well it is for sale, but then every club is for sale if they're offered way over the actual worth. That obviously isn't going to happen, so effectively, you guessed it... We're not fo sale.
But buying Hull City you also get the world famous Fc free of charge, buy one get one free. Any businessman worth his salt should be able to make the SMC pay when he has two professional clubs using the same stadium and the opportunity to stage other attractions as well. It's all year round income in the right hands.
Rugby town, football city. Trouble is despite there being far more interest in football as shown by the numbers in pubs and clubs when football is on, and far more playing football at junior level and non league senior levels, that doesn't translate to numbers in the stadium, especially when things aren't going well.
I know this may be a silly question, but has anyone got any update on how the alleged takeover is going, if its stalled, if its a figment of our imagination, if the hope that's risen is fools gold ! Seems to have gone very quiet !
Howden and Steven were talking about it last week. Aims to be done early to mid November was the last update. Also, HDM in their accounts analysis reporting that Acun is believed to be still hoping to complete a deal. Any sale will be subject to due diligence which takes weeks if not months. Takes 3 months to buy a house, its understandable that it may take longer to buy a football club.
Well since this story broke cover in April or May they have had 5 or 6 months at it so far. One can only imagine how much the price has fluctuated up and down according to performances on the pitch.
Yeah, early May he seemed to make initial contact, went away due to covid uncertainty and inability to travel, then came back in late July when lockdown eased. I'd expect the deal will be structured such a way as to reflect fluctuations in the clubs fortunes up to the actual point of sale. That seems fairly standard for this type of deal. They will have agreed on a criteria for valuing the club though if its at the stage its rumoured to be at. The rest will be down to the accountants.
Did I just get the faintest wiff of a possible involvement of Sir Adam Pearson being involved in any takeover deal? Or am I just dreaming and getting all over excited? Probably the latter
****ed if I know mate. I'm not ITK like you are. I'm just one of the posters on here who've been proven right over the last how many years is it now? Like I said, I dream of a day when someone like Adam Pearson is in charge of things. Just imagine, with him fronting the club with financial backing. Like I said though, I'm just dreaming. It's good to dream.
I said in 1972 that there would be no alien invasion of planet Earth. So far, I proved to be correct.
What you going to do when we are actually sold and you have nothing to complain about daily or say your right about.... Or are you just going to wait for those new owners to do something you don't like, stop going again and complain daily? In all seriousness though, AP back with serious backing would be an Interesting proposition that I'd be interested to see pan out
