I'm really sorry to hear about your dad. We've reached that time in life where we lose people near and dear to us. I hope you and yours are okay and you're all getting the support that you need. My dad died just over 2 years ago...but due to him donating his body to medical science, I am at present arranging the cremation of his remains and I'm really struggling with it...my step-mum isn't coping with it at all. By the 20th, I've got to pick 2 songs to be played at the crematorium. It should be easy, as he had lots of musical interests - Eddie Cochrane, The Stones, The Who, Willie Nelson, Springsteen, The Outlaws...lots. For the life of me, I can't pick one, let alone two. I've done some odd things in my life but the last couple of years have really taken the biscuit. Stay well and best wishes.
Condolences CM My dark suit and tie have taken a real bashing over the last couple of years and the car can find it's way to the crematorium all to easy Loved the music choice , I always thought that London must have been a fantastic place to be a young music lover in the mid 50s to early 60s being able to see these Jazz acts , Dudley Moore's jazz is overlooked because of the comedy and acting , Johnny Dankworth was involved with a music charity venue in Milton Keynes called the Stables a place where I saw him play a couple of times in his later years but the place is still going strong and we often go to see a good selection of acts . My wife's uncle is a big Jazz fan and has promised us his collection of original vynyl when he goes as he has no family to pass them on to, 80 plus albums including a lot on the Blue Note and Flying Dutchman labels
Was this the concert that ended with Joe Brown doing a solo performance of " I'll see you in my dreams " played on the ukulele, a scratchy version often heard coming from my house as I wrestle the life out of my uke
A very dangerous thing following suggestions on YouTube, one moment its 21.00 next thing you know its 02.00 and the house is asleep and beside you is a list of more records and CDs that you will buy
Have you seen the film Head, no not that one , the monkees totally nutty film , it's got Zappa and Jack Nicholson in it but I've not a clue what it's about
Yes that's the one, it also features his gorgeous daughter, looking particularly fabulous and performing a stunning version of Horse to Water, unfortunately it has disappeared from you tube.
