I hadn't really thought of that tbf, I pick the location and courses and then leave a bloke who sorts trips out to do the finer details. Turns out Trevose GC itself has lodges, which would be ideal.
Anywhere up around Trevose head would be good. It’s close enough to the Golf course and not far from Padstow. Not sure what’s up there accommodation wise though. Bit further south and 10 mins from Perranporth though is St Agnes. One of my favourite villages down here. Plenty of accommodation and some great pubs all within walking distance. If you’re all up for it a dip in the cove at Trevaunance in the mornings will be a great wake up tonic.
I think it was lit for the jubilee, but the beacon has been there for around 4000 years. The basket is fairly new though, the old one rusted away and was replaced around 3 years ago.
Me and about 7 or 8 others are planning a week in Cheltenham for the races, next March. We've turned to Airbnb as it works out no different pricewise to hotels in the area for that week. It's also nice to have our own space and facilities for evening meals etc.
Well naturally, but yeah the site is a well known ancient beacon. Think the base and the structure have been in place for a number of decades though
Yeah, got plenty of wild camping spots on my doorstep. As long as the boys bring a bivvy with them, they’ll be fine
I don't but the bloke I shared with this year did, the noisy ****. St Agnes a bit too far down, need somewhere more central to the three I mentioned. It'll be Bude on the Sunday on the way home then. Anyway, thinking of Dorset for this reason, everything more convenient than Cornwall, **** Cornwall!
Do you go ever year like or is this your first time? How long you going for? We are going on the Monday and coming back on the Sunday. Racing Tuesday to Friday and then out on the Friday and Saturday to tap some posh birds up. How I do during the week will decide if I buy them a glass of champagne or a half lager and lime
Being going since 2001, missed 2 years in that time. Always did the Tuesday until 5 years ago when we switched to the Wednesday as it fell on one of the lads 50th birthday, preferred the Wednesday so we do that now. Started with 2 of us going, now there's 16 of us. The town is absolutely rammed as you can imagine, there are lots and lots of lovely young ladies, I'm sure would love a glass of champagne, I'm sure there's a few that wouldn't mind a half of lager too.
