    Earliest bedtime for a while, I had a quick Google before hitting the pillow;

Winner of cups in Spain and Italy, Premier League winner 2016 and all round decent egg Claudio Raniero … now manager of Watford

Steve Bruce … still manager of Newcastle

I've just done exactly the same thing. Whilst folk would forget what he did at Leicester and focus on the number of clubs he's been at and hadn't had success with he's got a strong cv and I'd take him like a shot over the congenital buffoon we've got.

The funny bit of that is, Danny Murphy (how on earth did he ever get a job as a pundit?!) reckons Ranieri is too 'old school' and think Watford will be relegated!
Let's not forget this is the bloke that constantly blows smoke rings up Steve Bruce's hoop.
Honestly you couldn't make it up! <doh>
It's reckoned by the year 2034 half of the adult population of the U.K will have been Watford's manager at some point...:bandit:

Have the PL got to CAT. A decision should be imminent. But unfortunately the PL have had an undisclosed meeting with the Judge.

Now the PL want to name the judge as a director.

We don't want the CAT verdict till Wednesday at the earliest. Announce that too early and the PL may have grounds to appeal on the basis they didn't take enough time to consider all the arguments.

Read further down on the actual tweet. There is a quote further down which says that some members are on the board of each.

I don’t know the politics involved but the comments don’t make good reading for either the trust or True faith.

NUST have not by the looks of it made much of on attempt to diffuse the situation though.

I don’t know what is right. If your a paid up member you have a say in the trust but if your not a paid up member surely your still entitled to your opinion.

The trust is there to represent all fans. But I guess only if the trust agreed with what is being said.

You know what. CAT need only look at this picture merely days after the Jurisdiction hearing to conclude why the case should go ahead. I wonder why Masters was Levy’s guest of honour for that game. (And it’s not because he is a Villa fan).

No need to apologise you may be indeed right about it. It appears it is True Faith who made the unsavoury comment but a lot of people are suggesting they are out of order.

Maybe it is but it shows how divided our fan base are. Or frustrated I guess.

My major issue with this whole share% with the trust is that its been set up in the dumbest way possible.

They've come up with an idea, and rather than research the idea further by holding talks with either the current owner or indeed any of the prospective members of the consortium looking to buy the club, they have dived in head first with the begging bowl out saying if they can't get purchase a share in the club they will hand the money raised over to local charities.
    .
They've not announced which charities this will go to. They've not understood basic business. They've just asked for cash without a business plan.

The plan to obtain a 1% stake in the club is laughable if they actually understood this.

1% does not get you a seat on the board. 1% get's you **** all as regards to decision any making processes. 1% would allow you to attend an AGM once a year.

Furthermore they would need to raise £3.4m for a 1% stake at current value, which they think will take years to gather.

By that time though the club could potentially be worth 3 times that if the consortium come in and start chucking money at the infrastructure and playing squad. Then they'd need to raise £10m.

To me this screams Ponzy scheme.

What they are currently doing would be like @Roy Munson deciding he wants to buy his local bowling alley and walking into his bank without any business plan or figures and asking for a business loan. He'd be laughed out the place.

My major contention is they tried to come off legit by having a solicitor go on a podcast and defend this bollox and cast doubts on the validity of the CAT claim at the same time. This was one of the things that added to an already split fanbase.

What part of it screams Ponzy scheme ffs? Been listening to Steve Wraith much? That's retorical btw if you think its a ponzi scheme...

Not sure Warren Barton, George Caulkin, a local accountant and the local MP would be involved as the guardians if it was a Ponzi Scheme <doh>

It's set up to *hopefully* purchase a % of the club MORE in the event that we plummet through the leagues like those down the road - if they can't purchase a share the money goes to charity - its protected as thoroughly as it possibly can be.

£160k raised so far in 5/6 months from 6,000 contributors is a hell of an effort from a small % of the fan base.

P.s. Just wait for them to donate it to charity in 5 years when the Steve's Sheep will be saying what a waste of time. If the trust keep up the current rate of donations we will have £1.6m that will go to great local causes or buying a share in the club - what a horrendous idea...

What part of it suggests it's not?

There is no business plan. There have been no talks with either current owner or potential owners. There has been no talks with any local charities, There is no deadline to when they wish to have gained the money. There is no insight into who they wish to have placed on the board - even though a 1% share doesn't get you a seat on the board. There isn't even a vision of what they would like to bring to the board. Anybody who wishes to question it before investing gets shot down.
