Does he buy them off his own initiative, or (as I read the quote) is he showing his support for the managers preference?
Formations do matter mate. We have enough quality in this squad no doubt about it but not deployed properly and we’ve seen what we get. If Burnley started doing 4-2-3-1 with two wide men who don’t drop back they’d get annihilated
That's exactly what we've done again this season. The recruitment for the budget has been very good, the additions of Cannon, Bernard especially look really good. But it's not a championship budget or anywhere close so it doesn't really give us a chance. Grant isn't perfect but I think it's incredibly harsh to say he's not championship standard, he's never been given the tools to have a chance and the one time he had a bit of quality in Bowen & Grosicki, we were fighting for the top 6. I do find it bizarre that people think Adkins is a better gaffer as he's failing AGAIN at Charlton now & he's got a big budget. FWIW I do think we'll stay up regardless of takeover, we've had a tough start, missing a lot of key players yet we're still outside the bottom 3. P'boro must be absolutely awful and they spent good money in the summer. We now approach a nicer looking run of games, and reinforcements should be back after the Internationals.
Do you know what ? Forget the formations we did better because Emanuel is good going forward and keeps Poseidon much better than Coyle. A surprise to me was that Cannon tackled and harassed their midfield constantly and used good feed to also keep the ball. Bernard won so many headers , tackles and was also good on the ball . Eaves won headers played a proper centre forwards role and pestered Bamba - who would have beaten Magennis in the air every time. The rest fed off this positivity and effort My concern is that the runs Coyle and Elder make expose the ball to dispossession, the players above are not as likely to do the same . There you are not numbers required in this post .
Just stumbled upon this twitter thread from a Middlesbrough fan about Warnock: It's interesting that a lot of his complaints are the same ones City fans have with McCann. I think from the outside most people would say that Warnock is whilst dislikeable, very good at what he does. But it seems to be a common trait among football fans to have this ultra critical view of your team's manager that looks strange to outsiders.
I've just altered my vote. I was so pissed off on saturday ,when i saw the team and the game was over within nine minutes. Add the arrogance of the man and I've totally lost it with him. I don't think the players believe either.
I know its not his fault, but covid has destroyed my real ale taste buds and the beer at the station tasted awful. I hope it soon gets back to normal.
