Leeds United are offering Kalvin a new 5-year contract in response to firm interest from Scum

I have a feeling that regardless of what Leeds do this season, a HUGE bid will be incoming at the end of the season ... don't be surprised if Citeh get into a bidding war with Scum

Nothing less than £100m has to be the starting price to match the Girlish fee ... KP is way better than anyone else in Prem in his position, and Leeds must demand a fkn king's ransom for him ... the money will be needed to help add quality to the squad as players like Ayling/Dallas are starting to find it tough going in the Prem

got this via my former Sky Sports News presenter friend, she got it from a confidant at Eurosport of all places ... don't @ me please

Always going to happen and we can expect City to go in big for him and maybe Liverpool and Utd, but deffo offers from the top skint clubs in Europe. The new deal will have a buy out clause to ensure the club are protected. We can also expect offers for Raphinha

I heard this as well, but discounted it as just rumour from those trying to stir things up

Anything in the region of £100 million and sadly we will have to take the cash.

In fact we should snap their hands off.

I think a season of real progress might have made him want to stay at least another year, he is getting to the peak time of his career but it maybe we’re going to fight second season syndrome. If he goes then please anyone but the scum.

It was me! I jokingly put in a 50p bid, but didn't expect it to be accepted. I thought they'd go into hardball mode & try to get me to raise to 75p, but they folded really quick. Bit my hand off, & I'd really like it back.

Of course it's money that can be used to better the squad. Plus any player is only an injury away from being like forshaw.

West Ham have said 100 million for Rice.

For me, Phillips is the better player but is also about 3 years older. That might push his price down a little. I'd be slapping 85 million on his head.

Man City are the ones imo. Fernandinho is 35 now and they need that defensive midfielder to come in. I'm not sure Liverpool can afford him.

Keep Phillips and Raphinha, 100m release clause for Kalvin and 80m for Raphinha. Consolidate this year. Buy a new RB, CM and Haaland in the next window, win the league next year and then there’s no need to be selling any of our top talent. Am I asking for too much though?

Leicester have soent something like £35m on new talent before this season and sold for something like £250m and each time they do that they go out and find a new Kante or Fofana, Ianacho….its the best way to move forward because the new transfers are self funding meaning the owner isnt reaching into the clubs coffers. So in effect they are free players in real terms bought through a good growth plan.

Right now we are bottom 6 club and yes we should end up in the 14th to 10th region of the table which in reality is the 3rd level in the prem. to progress we either need a very rich owner or we must accept that we have to sell one or two to help finance the next Raphinha for less than £20m but worth £60m. I have not checked the Leicester numbers but I have a feeling that Leicester have made around £350m clear profit from sensible buying

Cut and paste job, but on top of these players there has been more as this was a year old piece

Drinkwater joined Leicester from Manchester United for a fee thought to be around £1 million ($1.8m) and left for Chelsea for £35m ($63m); Mahrez cost just £400,000 ($725,000) from French club Le Havre and went to Manchester City for £60 million ($108m) and Kante cost £5.6 million ($10m) from Caen and went to Chelsea for £36 million ($63m).

The club has continued to sell well.

Harry Maguire came in from Hull for an initial fee of £12 million ($21m). Two years later, he moved to Manchester United for £80 million, a world-record fee for a defender.

Ben Chilwell joined Leicester’s academy at 12 and was sold to Chelsea this season for £50 million ($90m).

Between them Kante, Mahrez, Drinkwater, Maguire and Chilwell were recruited for less than £20 million ($36m) and sold for a combined £250 million ($450m).

It’s a format that works and is sustainable for a limited amount of time. Hugely in Leicester’s favour was the discovery of Vardy and holding on to him for 9 seasons. He is 34 now, when he goes it will be a lot harder for Leicester. I think the only points Leicester have managed this season are when Vardy scores.

For it to work you do need a key core of players who are ever reliable and you need someone who converts more chances than our attackers currently do. You also need to avoid spending £25m on the likes of Rodrigo who is okay but at 30 years old has zero sell on value

What will be a stumbling block for us in copying that kind of format is Bielsa having a reluctance to use or pick from a larger squad and I wonder how many of the players Leicester have sold for profit would have ever suited the criteria Bielsa looks for.

Bielsa is an anomaly and will not be here forever, but he is doing a great job of building ghe foundations of a great club and a sustainable one. Some of the best kids in the UK being educated and coached in Bielsaball and when the new guy comes in it will be a coach who complements what has been built. Not like the Watford operation with yet another coach taking over irrespective of what players they have or what the players can do. Leeds next coach will have a fast attacking style but probably also employ a low block, but all the players at the club will find it easy to do what the new guy wants. Too many peeps seem to have a downwr in Bielsa at the moment
