So despite the 'boycott' Chelsea got 38518 at £40 last night; With an increase on ticket prices from £30 last season. not bad.

Arsenal to their credit filled the Emirates for their champions league games this season and have had capacity crowds for several seasons; but even London's biggest club had a below par attendance for a Carling match. Still 46k though. Their away support has remained fantastic this season with a great showing in Marseilles last night.

Qpr have failed to sell out this season despite cutting prices. 15-16k for their first Prem games in 15-16 years.

Spurs only taking half their Allocation to old t and st james's is a worry for a club with the best away support in london.

Let's see how many tickets, the club sell tonight at £25.

Let's hope the 24k attendance V shamrock with their large away following was a one-off rather an indication of the football recession in the capital.

You're wumming again and making yourself look stupid, again.

I accept that the 'official attendance' on our site is 24,730. But in actuality that must either be a mistake or some strange counting that Spurs have embarked on. Because all STs had that game as part of their free games, that makes about 26,000 to start with. Plus there were clearly at least 3,000 Rovers fans there, in actual fact lots were in the 'neutral/home' sections. Plus some Spurs members/occasional supporters definitely bought tickets, I personally know two myself.

It may well be that many Spurs STs didn't take up their seat, but it was sold regardless. Looking at the TV pictures, I would think the actual attendance was 30,000+, and including 'absentees' who had bought their ticket, I think 34,000 is about the right figure.

I realise this spoils the cheap dig you came on to make, but there it is, 'owned' as I believed the youth say <ok>

Incidentally, there was a great atmosphere that night, far better I'm sure than in your graveyard for day trippers and camera enthusiasts.

However, tonight there will be a low crowd at the Lane and 24,000 is very much a possibility as STs have to 'buy their own seat' for this one, so many won't. However, we sold out all our CL matches last season, so I am confident had this been a CL match it would have been a sell out. I presume it wasn't a sell out at the Bridge last night for a CL match?

Not at all; genuinely concerned about the decline in attendances in London.

    As should you be.

At times like this, I wonder if players might think of subsidising the price of tickets with say 10% of their weekly wage! At Chelsea last night that would have been about £200k or £5 off a ticket, and they wouldn't have starved on 90% of their wages!

Very true Blue. I 'boycotted' the match last night at that price and saved my cash for Rangers away and Wolves home.

I took my kids to the cinema instead!

No, no, you've got form on here. You're an unwelcome Wum, I haven't even been on here that long and already I know you. I look forward to some of the views of longer Spurs supporters on this site. Plus the dig at our away support, both those games were on Sky, OT is a place where we regularly get robbed and beaten, and it's an absolute tribute to any Spurs fan that they bothered making a trip up there on a Monday night.

Toon is a place we usually get beaten, rarely win, and the view is an absolute affront to any away fan. Without any doubt you will get a better view by staying home and watching it on a decent big screen somewhere. I'm amazed again that as many Spurs fans went there as they did.

    EDIT

PS I see Ensil knows about you, and he will have doubtless have more to say should you continue your despicable wumming.

Can we stay on topic please.

Start another thread if you have an axe to grind about other issues you have

I am on topic, you came on with a cheap and inaccurate dig(s) about our attendances, and I have corrected you. Why didn't you restrict your anti-Spurs nonsense to your own board, so then you wouldn't have met any challenges.

It is a worrying indicator of the recession when Spurs have to advertise tickets on the Tube and talkSport.

Clubs would have been ridiculed for this in the past

Does anyone else remember Spurs in the early 80s fiddling the gate receipts to avoid tax ?
It was rammo every week, couldn't move, but Spurs would release attendance figures of around 30k (capacity of 45k ish in them days)

Used to go home and away in late 70s/early 80s but go to about 15-20 games a season now; that's enough for me now.

Champions League football can drain the pockets as Spurs found out after one season: not taking their allocation to City of Manchester stadium for the Champions League playoff last season.

Arsenal fans have been juggling the cost of prem and CL for 15 seasons now; it's not easy.

    HammersmithBlue,

You really are such a boring and pathetic wum, usually I don't respond to you guys but I really don't understand the kick you get out of trying to wind people up on an internet forum. You say you were going to games in the 70s/80s which gives me the impression you're not exactly a young'un with all due respect, don't you think it's time to grow up a bit?
I'm 21, my generation is always slated in the media for being naive, juvenile, rude etc... Yet it's no surprise when idiots like you exist are the people we're meant to look up to and learn from...

In answer to your general question - No I'm not worried about the recession, I've been going all Spurs home games for nearly 6 years now, I go to about 7/8 away games too, White Hart Lane is near enough always at full capacity and whenever I'm away, I always see a tremendous amount of Spurs fans doing our club proud.

See you're at it again, you're clearly an absolutely pathetic Wum, and hopefully this thread will be closed before the inevitable decline into abuse that's going to happen.

Incidentally, I completely accept that you took your kids to the cinema rather than watch Chelsea, but as a loyal Spurs supporter I would always watch Spurs on TV, hopefully with my kids, then I'd take them to the cinema on another day.

Clearly you find the cinema more attractive than watching Chelsea, as a Spurs fan that's something we can agree on <ok> I'd settle for watching paint dry or having a cup of tea with two sugars in myself, but hey that's just me <laugh>

Your knowledge of all our away allocations and tickets sold is frightening to the point of an obsessive disorder. You really are in a bad, sad way aren't you.

Judging by the way Spurs are always being ridiculed by almost every other clubs supporters I would imagine you top that list, don't you?
