Holden Caulfield rocks. 'Swrong with you lot? Although I'll grant you it probably takes an alienated misfit to identify.

Clancy books are **** now.. I read the series of books with patriot games etc in all good books and geeky re weapon technology.. The jack reacher books by Lee childs are great reads.. An they are about to ruined by turning them into films with Tom cruise playing reacher.. If you like those books read Harlan coben also as he has a series of books with the main character myron bolitar.. Great books an I enjoy his writing style..
The Killer Inside Me by Jim Thompson is well worth a read, and Grapes of Wrath as previously mentioned ; To Kill A Mockingbird is also a classic - though I didnt appreciate it , as well as many others ( catcher.. Lord of The Flies , etc ) when made to read them at school......how can you enjoy a book you are "made" to read ? No wonder the kids are revolting.
written from a strange perspective ....if I remember rightly the whole thing is pretty much only his internal monologue...or some such thing.
Conn Iggulden's Julius Caesar and Genghis Khan series, Robert Harris (especially his Roman novels), James Clavell's Asian novels, Sebastian Faulk's Birdsong, Lord of the Rings, Irvine Welsh, CJ Sansom's Shardlake books. And if I've got nowt else to read, something by Bernard Cornwell or even James Herbert
We have a copy of Dan Browns the Lost symbol around the house, i have attempted to read this steaming pile of **** 3 times and given up a third of the way through..... Horrible reading
