    CAT = takeover right!

But what if it is CAT = just compensation.

Think about it. Bruce doesn’t look like he is worried about his job.

The club don’t look like they are going to sack him. There are no noises at all there.

Bruce said he knew **** all about the CAT. Bollocks. He knows.

What if Ashley is just wanting his value if CAT wins. They establish the value and he gets his 100+ million.

He then just keeps the club and gets another bite of the cherry. They said in the CAT case that there has been other offers. That PIF are not at the table potentially.

So why has he not accepted one of the offers and just followed through with CAT.

Because he is a greedy bastard.

Surely if it was compensation then he'd still accept another offer? This proving the amount of compensation? Or why progress with arbitration?

No. He will get his compensation regardless. The minimum he is getting is his 300m. He has hedged his bets.

So he is just going to progress the CAT. Progress with Bruce and no investment and if we get relegated he doesn’t care. He is still getting his 300m.

CAT wins he gets his money. Then he gets the club back in the PL rinse and repeat. If CAT goes ahead: he can’t lose!

The flip side for me is if he was that confident of PIF being at the table. And if they where. He would be doing anything in his power to KEEP us in the PL.

Think about it. The closer we get to relegation would mean that PIF would not buy. So why is he taking such a big risk!

So how much compensation would he get? Surely that could only be decided once an agreed sale has been made?

Or could he say he's lost £100m so gets that then he sells for what he originally wanted?

It’s easy to get MV of anything. He would get 300m less the MV of the club. The lower that MV the better for him. Cause that’s instant cash.

If we get relegated and he wins CAT. He may get even more.

I don’t want to believe it. But it’s just plain stupidity keeping the current setup if he “needs” the club to stay in the PL to get the sale through.

But if he doesn’t need the sale!!!!!!!

Yes it is. He had a deal for £300m all signed and sealed. The value lost to him now is the fact that he has had offers much much lower. Possibly even as low as 200m. Covid has affected the value. You only need to look at the B/S of the club.

The value is also affected by future events. The value is based on the ability to generate future income streams. The more likely the club go out the Pl then that value is completely diminished.

It shouldn’t come to that ofc. But I just do not trust him and do not understand his business logic.

When selling an asset it is up to the owner to maintain that asset to its standards and value as at the time of the offer.

But the CAT people aren't stupid. They will know that since then MA has been deliberately decreasing it's value?!

He hasn’t deliberately been doing it. And their job as paid people acting for him is to win the CAT regardless of his motivation.

We all just assume it’s to get PIF pack to the table.

But they won’t be back if we get relegated. So why not ensure we don’t.

What if PIF have said they will buy regardless of which league we are in and green lighted Ashley to act like a wrecking ball?

I’d say the EFL may be more forthcoming with a takeover after seeing the **** storm hitting the PL.

I think he won’t change manager because he doesn’t want to deal with it. He wants it to be the next owners prerogative which is probably the right thing to do if we’re weeks from a change of ownership.

I don’t think Ashley is anything more than a simple - in a literal sense - businessman. He’s not a criminal mastermind or evil genius, just a ****ing terrible club owner. We’re one win from leaving relegation zone, it’s going to be very tight and any new owner will have 4 months and a window to change things which is ample time.

Im not saying I agree with it, but there’s never deep conspiracy with Ashley. CAT is about his greed as well as selling the club. Arb is about selling the club. Both are happening and we appear to be winning both.

I disagree. Ashley IS a bastard. Pretty straight forward one at that. And he knows he can’t lose if CAT goes ahead.

I also am unsure if PIF are still there. Otherwise they would be suggesting to Ashley. “You do realise we need to be in the PL don’t you”!

In the CAT case itself they have stated on public record “they do not know if PIF are still interested” in a legal framework. If that transpired to be an idol threat and evidence is there to suggest otherwise then the CAT case collapses. All that Ashley wins is interest etc.

And I personally don’t think we are weeks from a change of ownership either. That would be wishful thinking.

Early January is when it will happen. If at all.

I do get what your saying about the manager situation and PIF wanting to do the right thing, pay Bruce off. But it’s getting critical now.

Bruce is just hanging in for his final pay day and that in itself is creating problems.

The players don’t want to play for him and half of them know their numbers are up also.

It’s just a mess. The losers are the fans.

We can play the long term game and lose. Lose heavily. And the club is completely destroyed.

I don’t disagree with any of it, and it’s an absolute clusterfuck like most of the last 15 years. But I’m numb to it. Bruce won’t go. I don’t care what Ashley’s agenda is, he just needs to ****ing disappear so we can move on from Bruce.

I don’t care if it’s PIF or Mrs Miggins Pie Shop buying the club, he has to go and nothing changes - including the useless buffoon manager - until he does. Wasn’t it Barnes who said they didn’t know about PIF? I thought the court heard the consortium were still active?
