Most isn't enough. Roughly 20% of the population are not double jabbed. That is why our infection rates are now so much higher than the rest of Europe.
I don't think being vaccinated slows down transmissions at all when you look at the results from Israel. It clearly lessens the chances of you becoming seriously ill, though.
It is proven to lower the risk of transmission, but the UK is more densely populated so we still have a higher chance of infection
Health Ministry chief says coronavirus spread reaching record heights | The Times of Israel Concerning at first glance. Israel seem to be a bit of trailblazer and ahead of the game. Record numbers are happening. The Israelis have just had their new year, I believe? A lot of mixing would have been happening. Then I seen this... I'd be inclined to now think a long the lines of the vaccines are certainly working but maybe their effectiveness lowers quite quickly. There's also the thought that the vaccine does stop the vast majority from being seriously ill but also has little to no impact on transmission. However, ultimately, the vaccines clearly work and it's safer to be vaccinated than not.
It depends on your age and health, I suppose. It won't be the same percentage for everybody. All I'm saying is you have less chance of becoming ill if you are vaccinated. Not arsed about the numbers and finer details. That's all I need to know to feel like I've done the right thing in rolling my sleeve up. I'm surprised at you, btw. Clearly an intelligent guy but you seem to be slipping down the rabbit hole yourself, lately.
Not slipping down anywhere, I just haven't felt the need to have it. I am neither strongly for it nor strongly against it. People can either get it or not, I really don't care what they do. I was just pointing out that the "numbers and finer details" show that the average % chance of being severely ill even unvaccinated is 0.0062%
Same here. I couldn't give a damn and I speak out against any sort of exclusions for the unvaccinated. Nobody should be treated any differently or stopped from doing anything because they've not had a jab. I'm against people rolling out misinformation, though. If that's what the percentage is then fair enough, it will be even lower again if vaccinated. That was enough for me to get a jab.
100% of un vaxed people who died from covid have died from covid. Just think of that, everyone who caught it is dead
My guess is that the unvaccinated are much more likely to spread the virus. This isn't necessarily due to them being more infectious but as a result of their attitude. They are comprised largely of people with a Trump view of the virus, that it's no big deal, just a bit of flue.
It doesn't affect young kids so what's the point in the vaccine when the chances are so slim of being seriously ill or dying A 15-year-old girl has died from Covid-19 on the day she was due to be vaccinated. Jorja Halliday, from Portsmouth, died at the Queen Alexandra Hospital on Tuesday, four days after she received a positive PCR test result. Her mother, Tracey Halliday, 40, said the GCSE student was a "loving girl, talented kickboxer and aspiring musician". Jorja had cancelled her vaccine appointment because she was isolating. please log in to view this image Ms Halliday said her daughter's death was "heart-wrenching" but she praised hospital staff who did "everything they could to save her". She explained that Jorja developed flu-like symptoms the weekend before she died. She took a PCR test which was positive so she began to isolate at home on Saturday 25 September. Jorja's symptoms continued to worsen and by Monday she couldn't eat because her throat hurt, at which point she was given antibiotics. Ms Halliday said her daughter's condition worsened and when she was seen by a doctor they admitted her to hospital because her heart rate was "double what it should have been". She said: "They realised how serious it was and I was still allowed to touch her, hold her hand, hug her and everything else. They did allow me that. "I'm at the point where I can't comprehend that it's happened. I was with her the whole time." Hospital staff tried to put Jorja on a ventilator so her body could recover, but Ms Halliday said her heart rate didn't stabilise and "couldn't take the strain". Ms Halliday confirmed her daughter had no underlying health conditions. Preliminary results after she was admitted to hospital indicated Jorja had Covid myocarditis, heart inflammation caused by the virus. Jorja, the eldest of five siblings, was described by her mother as a "loving girl" who had lots of friends. Ms Halliday added: "Growing up she turned into a beautiful young lady, always wanting to help others, always there for everybody. "It's heart-wrenching because your kids are always meant to outlive you, and that's the one thing I can't get over." My sister is double jabbed so is her husband they decided not to inject their 14 year old . Everyone In the house has tested positive for Covid apart from the husband I was feeling sweaty with no energy yesterday but that turned out to be a hangover
The parents have no say in it. If the child chooses to be vaccinated then they'll get the jab with or without their parents consent.
I didn't say that I agreed with it. It is a fact, though. The parents can and will be overruled if a child says yes to the vaccine. If your child is offered a vaccination at school, a consent form may be handed out to give your permission. Parental consent will not be needed if the child is considered competent to make a decision by themselves – this is known as being Gillick competent. In other words, children under the age of 16 can consent to their own treatment if they're believed to have enough intelligence, competence and understanding to fully appreciate what's involved. Prof Whitty said for the “great majority of cases, children and their parents come to the same decision". Vaccines minister Nadhim Zahawi said parental consent will be needed for vaccinations of 12 to 15-year-olds, but children can overrule parents who do not want them to get the jab but will only be able to do so following a meeting with a clinician. There would, however, be some mediation in the event of disagreements. Covid vaccine for 12-15 year olds: Can children give consent and overrule their parents? | ITV News
I mentioned this months before they even disclosed that they want to inject kids. . I called my son's school and told them I don't give consent to any medical procedures and I will take legal action for assault if they go anywhere near him. Gillick competence may be used in some backwards areas but I instructed my children to immediately leave school if they even hint that they're going to be medically raped on school premises.
