Fair point. Still managed to get the back of the leg though. Jorginho was entitled to milk it a bit (though I'm sure it was very painful...)
As per usual, a “big club” wins with 12 men versus Saints who finish with 10. Plus they can bring on a ridiculous amount of talent who they have benchwarming when any of those players would probably walk into the starting lineup of most premier league teams. ****ing joke, this “level playing field” **** ……. It’s no wonder managers, players and supporters of anyone other than “the usual suspects at the top” get disillusioned. I’m seeing so many joke decisions again this season that I’m beginning to wonder where it might end ….
Can you really blame fans for wanting someone else in? Football is a results business. No one cares about referee decisions/VAR/playing well but losing. A defeat is a defeat. Our league position isn't open to interpretation. 4 points from 7 games speaks for itself. That's without even taking Jan to May's results into consideration
Gutting today after putting in some decent effort. I can’t place any blame on that result for the officials. Thought we were extremely lucky to get the foul on kwp to disallow goal and he gave us the pen. JWP looked a red to me aswell. Will the EFL game count as the third or does it have to be 3 league games. At least he gets a good rest!
Really sorry Godders but you’ll have to change your signature picture. No discussions about it on this thread please, from you or anyone else.
The worry is who's gonna get them? Not sure there's enough goals in the team as it stands. Prowsie will get 6/7 you'd think including the set pieces. Stu will get 3/4 I'd say. Che should be hitting 8+ but has looked well off it so far this season. Can hopefully go on a run once he gets one too. Redders/Theo/Mo will probably get no more than 6/7 between them. The big unknown is Armstrong. If he gets into double figures then I expect we'll be sound. Less than 8 and we'll be in trouble. It actually feels like our entire season hinges on how good Armstrong is for us.
Off the back of the run of games we've had at the start of the season, and actually watching the games themselves. Yes, I think it's idiotic to wanting someone else in at this stage. If we're still in the same position after the next run of games, then perhaps then is the time to start having those discussions.
No other manager in world football could have done better today, with that squad. We are short of a creative 10 and a striker who scores goals.
October was always looking like it would be a big month for us. It's going to be a massive month for us. Good news that we will presumably have Stu back starting from now on. But having JWP sitting out for the rest of the month, except for Watford, is obviously a blow. We could end October knocking on the door of the top half, and in the QF of the league cup. But on the other hand, if we are still winless in the league at the end of the month...
Long to darkhorse and win the golden boot with 42 goals and end up signing for Liverpool where he will go on to make 2 appearances
I think Adam Armstrong will score goals at any level if he has half decent service. Sadly with Redmond, Djenepo, Elyounoussi and Tella he gets bugger all to feed off. Our most creative player is Livramento. Our only hope is that Stu comes back and brings the creativity we so desperately miss.
We’ve played Utd, Chelsea, City, Everton and West Ham. That’s a tough load of games. So even though I’m as pissed off as anyone right now, let’s give them a chance. Ralph still doesn’t know his preferred attacking set-up, but hopefully with Stu Armstrong back things will look brighter. But, I’d probably be playing him alongside Romeu while JWP is out. Diallo still looks too lightweight for a DM.
Yeah those ones are definitely painful. I just don't think we should apply the rules to the point where we're telling players they can't go for 50/50's. I can see why they gave it but I'll never personally consider those sorts of tackles serious foul play. And a booking certainly wasn't a clear and obvious error.
In fairness our 7 games have included four of last years top 6 and two of our big bogry grounds. Still think if we're looking at this season in isolation then we should wait til our next 5. Fair enough on last year though.
2018 called and wants its post about Mark Hughes back. (I'm very much Ralph in btw, but these types of posts are nonsense for all sorts of reasons)
