Unfortunately, it didn't work, he couldn't score against a Bradford XI either, the game finished nil-nil.
Can't find anything anywhere, apparently it was a behind closed doors game away at Bradford and the pitch was **** and no-one scored, that's all I know.
Least he is consistent!! I feel sure if he manages to get one against Watford someone will come on here and say he has proved all his doubters wrong. Bollocks.
Mcleans work rate has never been in question, but imo, this is one player who badly needs a striker coach to work with. Mclean has proved that when he has time to think he messes up. This has to be worked on and fast. All his goals have been from quick instinct (ie. Coventry away last season and Peterboro away this season)
Scunny away last season he scored two and both were pretty simple. You seem far too quick to judge players. You've been quite publicly on the Adebola band-wagon despite having hardly seen him play, and you've got it in for McLean because he missed a chance at Brighton. He's been defended my the majority of fans for a long time because it' obvious his contribution is valuable, maybe those people are actually right and your simple 'If he scores he's good, if he misses he's ****' theory needs some rethinking.
I havent got it IN for any of our players. His record since signing 10 months ago is not good enough. We were held back last year by a lack of goals. We are being held back this year by a lack of goals. Just face that fact will you. The defence and midfield are excellent, the forwards arent. As Adestrolla has not forced his way into the team, in my eyes he is a bad buy. Some weeks he isnt even on the bench, that limits our options when our reserve centre forward cant make the bench as he isnt good enough. The points dropped against Bristol and Donny may comeback to bite us later on. Did you hear the Leeds coach on the FL Show, saying you have to win your away games in this league to get promoted.
I'd like to win every game, obviously. I'm not sure why you think that's the fault of those two players though. Fryatt has missed way more (and easier) chances this season than McLean but he doesn't get all the criticism because it's not as cool to criticise him as it is to say McLean's ****. As for Adebola your logic on him is ridiculous, he's not played because Fryatt, McLean and Waggy have done well. Just like Owen doesn't play much for Man U because the other 4 strikers do pretty well, at some point this season we will hit a bad patch or suffer a few injuries up top and Adebola will be needed, we should really reserve judgement on him until then. (But I know I brought him up on this occasion).
Fryatt hasnt been himself this season i agree. I posted against Chesterfield he looked sluggish then, but, he has some grace from last season as he banged them in. Mclean has no such leeway. Couldnt score then, cant score now, not good enough. The longer he doesnt score yet gets played the further away from the automatics we will be. I dont want another season the Championship. No your logic is ridiculous on Adestrolla. The forwards arent doing well!! 9 goals isnt doing well is it. Waghorn was brought in as a loannee after we signed Ade on a permanent, why? Cos Mclean, Fryatt and Ade arent scoring. Of the 3 i would keep Fryatt, decisions need to be made quickly.
Strikers are always going to get criticised if they aren't scoring. They will come good, lets not worry!
Because Adebola was free all summer, whereas Waghorn was only available on deadline day at pretty much midnight.
