Didn't we once play Seville away on a Thursday with a 8pm kick off and then play Chelsea away on the Saturday with a 12.30pm kick off? Something like 36 or 37 hours between the end of one and the start of the other. Iirc we lost to Chelsea to a last minute goal. ***sorry...just seen @paultheplug got there first...should have read on before posting... being premature is a problem ...for some...so I've read
It was a 3-3 draw. I was at that game. I was not happy and there was a ****ing war afterwards... https://metro.co.uk/2007/03/12/10-stabbed-as-chelsea-and-spurs-fans-clash-159160/
But they’re aimed at the pubs who subscribe. Get punters in at midday and keep them in all day. If you’re in that mood or on holiday, it’s quite fun but I agree the games tend to be less enjoyable. Evening games - 7.45 or 8.00pm- are the best; always have been. Players must be conditioned to playing in the later part of the day. 12.30 must be a shock to the system.
Just looked it up.... Different game ... was April 2007 ... about a month after this... Gallas scored the last minute winner
You're right. I've got to that age where my mind's started to play tricks on me ...I was convinced it was after the Sevilla game. In fact, the 3-3 was after Braga away in midweek.
Had forgotten about that 3-3 game... thought we were well unlucky not to win that day... As for memories ... can barely get my kids names right
Just switched on the Man Utd v Everton game and the commentator made me think. No Room For Racism is a bit of a stupid slogan. It makes it sound like we'd like some racism, but we're a bit too full.
Ole has Ronaldo, Pogba and Sancho to bring on and Everton have to resort to Tom Davies. Does not look good for Gollum to blow a lead in those circumstances, even if they still rescue this.
