She will never be forgotten as I spent the majority of my youth and young man years there but I wouldnt go back to that from the SOL now.

Just as I loved Roker, I love the SOL now and I never tire of going there.

Just wish we had something to shout about.

It saddens me to look back upon places you have once been which you know you cannot ever return. How much would you pay to go back and watch a match on a Saturday afternoon at Roker park today? I'd pay £1000 just to be able to do it once again.

I remember when I first started to watch Sunderland. Frank Worthington was the striker at the time and I used to stand in the clockstand paddocks shouting "Come on hairy legs run for the ball" ! I'm not sure if he ever listened though. :)

He wouldn't be bothered mate, he got more fanny than even you.

How you keep three on the go is beyond me.

Haha well I was a quiet lad with the lasses in my 20's but decided to make up for it in my 30's. Its fairly easy... just arrange to meet them once every few weeks for a few drinks. Theres always one of them decides they cannot go out for one reason or another (probably shagging someone else) so you can always text the keenest of the 3 at short notice and anticipate a bit of action!

I'd like to see your signature picture in greater detail lol, any chance you can post a bigger version. :)

Started off in Clock stand paddock with my dad as a kid; Fullwell End as a youthful teenager on my own; Roker end for the next 8 or 9 years then finished off with 10 years in the main stand and clock stand seats. Been going to the match with me marra for 30 years. Last game in the clock stand seats. Very emotional day that was for all of us.

Never regretted the move to the SOL though, as I love the 'new girl' immensely. I would just love one more sunny afternoon in the Roker mind and especially an evening game under the floodlights. Roker park was magical at night for me.

    Roker end for me...

Wonder if away supporters thought of it as an intimidating ground?

What grounds did or do you find intimidating or just a nightmare?

West Ham or Leeds for me, although never went to the Old Den, the new one was bad enough.
