A poisonous crane fly … climb out of your hiding place, they are not poisonous, without checking [ I am depending on knowledge from those ****e TV PROGS .. they have mouths but do not eat [ some say extremely rarely they may try ]

    Spiders ……….. Further comment
FALSE WIDOWS … first question have you identified it correctly there is more than one in this species group [ maybe 5 or 6? ] False widow has skull like marked body .. others vary...
only about a dozen or so of our 100 or so species bite ..none sting!? and usually only as a defence #.. none actually poisonous … just use hygienic approach to bite … any reaction could be up to 12 hours? [ odd individuals can have personal reaction probs, like peeps needing to carry pens for wasp or bee stings ]
enjoy nature do not kill it ……

    # wolf spider can actually be touched even encouraged onto hand before it bites [ usually only after repeated provocation ] good in the garden as eats pests, body size about 10 mm [ to 15mm ]

The sting from a bee that had me last year! The thing flew inside my shirt and stung me on my chest. Unfortunately, it kills the bee!!

Honey bee. The pain of the sting wasn’t as bad as the wasp stings I’ve had though. I do a bit of gardening on and off, and stings come with the territory. Once I managed to mow over a wasps nest - they really weren’t happy!! Got stung 3 times!!

4 of my friends keep bees I had a hive up until 2002 .. one has 30 hives and sells over 400 jars a year to local somerset outlets … they all get the occasional sting but never wear gloves! My last foray was a stinging one .. some how a bee got in my head dress … could feel it crawling in my hair … went away from hive to take it off then ouch stung my scalp …. it hurt ...

well spotted Wiz … what a stupid over reaction. THEY DO NOT attack or ambush large prey like humans or even rats or mice ………. they are ambush predators. Between 2 of my tomato plants is a false widow, I have been very careful picking the toms so as not to damage the web! in fact when on its web and I pick the odd tom it retreats to a leaf at the stem its sheltering place! [ 4 webs on toms ]
they are unlikely to be more than 1 spider to a class maybe 2, especially should the cleaners do a proper job.. even just once or twice a week! like the majority of living animals humans elephants ants etc they prefer peace as opposed to aggression... torment them and wham bam

They are horrible little ****ers, that bite you after they’ve been sitting in ****. So they get a good dose of the spray killer.
Leave their dead bodies by doors and windows then perhaps their mates think twice about coming in the house. Don’t work and only upsets the females in the house I find though. Males just laugh but once those females start, you start thinking the fly got it easy.

    OH LOADZzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Call /also call them cleggs and they flecking hurt. Was picking Black berries a month ago and where the skin starts on your thumb [was holding the container] could feel a tickle picked a couple more then brushed "the tickle" killing the clegg! loads of blood always carry germolene and sanitizer, used both, it started hurting about 5 mins later!

One for ROD :emoticon-0140-rofl::emoticon-0140-rofl::emoticon-0140-rofl::emoticon-0140-rofl: In Scotland 2018 [ loads of red in the valley we go up and river] Clegg season --- walked up or down and they were in clouds I mean imagine a sphere of them 5-8 foot off ground and about 6ft across and path is only 3 foot."almost" every bit of body covered but got anything from 3 -9 bites each trip [ did 10 ] small gap near neck or wrist and on face … OUCH! up there it hurts for hours. On day 7 gloves boots all secured there was thousands [ no midges mind ] had a swish made from heather and constantly waved in front of face made arms ache, a couple got through, wearing a balaclava but nose and eyes were exposed. Looking ahead, halfway down, clothes had about 5 dozen on arms chest legs my friend probably over a hundred on front and back! At least 6 clouds ahead, I mean we had gone through a dozen already plus the odd ones … a light bulb moment ..SSS, closed eyes and sprayed liberally on exposed face, first cloud walked through swishing, they seemed divert away .. next cloud tried walking no swishing .. they flew at face, you could watch them homing in but they diverted away even the masses on the clothes were less … made the last 2 miles with no swishing no bites and very few on clothes... why didn't we think of it before SSS that magic from Avon …..
being an outdoor person call of nature … be careful … cleggs about, not particular where the suck … the blood from ….them wee devils take every opportunity....

Horse Fly bites are the most itchy things ever. I usually get them on my lower legs when walking through the local fields or when I'm in my back garden border which seems to be one of their favourite places. The best I've found to treat the bites is Anthisan cream which is also good for Wasp and Hornet stings.

I have an after bite spray, usually for those female midges in Scotland.. now they hurt almost as much as Cleggs but itchiness level is greater with the midges.
If I can find it I have a photo taken by my mate of my face covered with midges after walking down the mountain [ about 4 miles ] .. sprayed with Avon SSS … never had a single bite , never really felt them either. he doesn't use it and never gets bitten!!!
