get a good nit comb and a lot of conditioner, preferably tea tree. Wash the hair and pile on a load of conditioner. Comb with a nit comb over and over and over until you can't see any nits coming off on the comb anymore. Wash the hair. Repeat this every day for a week..and then do it again exactly a week later for a couple of days. That should do it, but if you see anymore signs of nits, repeat. They're a bloody pain..we've had them loads of times and they're too clever for the stuff you can buy in the chemists these days.
thats what I had heard Hornette, hence the thread asking. which iknow can go either way. generally though you get decent advise (see your post) I dont know what it is i would rather fight a tiger than get nits, had them as a kid and the thought of them makes me squirm nasty things
they're revolting! Just the thought of an insect crawling around a head all day, munching when they feel like it gives me the shivers! We still get them, somehow i thought secondary school would get rid of them but no, my girls seem fated to go through their whole school life with them..i hate them with a passion!
duh! They go to a good school. Nits don't see a school and think.."oh yeah, that's a crap school, i'll go and find a head there" ya know!
Nits are a curse. My kids school drive us nuts with them. Whenever some unwashed chav gets them the school send everyone a letter saying nits are about but apparently the school is not allowed to actually tell the parents of the kids who have them to sort it out. Might upset their feelings or some ****. So we end up with the scenario of the unwashed who don't give a toss never sorting their kids out and as a result we end up spending a ****ing fortune because their filthy ****ing kids constantly pass them on to everyone while the school is too scared to tell their parents. Bring back the nit nurse I say. She didn't **** about.
certainly if you send your children to school with condoms on their head that should act as an excellent barrier to prevent any nit infestation.
a thing called " banlice mousse " is the best Ive tried yet on my kids ( and Ive tried a few )...dont know if its only available in australia..but, if not, you could look it up on the net and get something with the same active ingredient probably. AND dont forget to wash their pillows , towels, bedclothes etc once youve done the treatment
