To be honest at one time I would not get angry but at the minute I am irritable as f**k. Its weird I have spent the last 50 years working waiting to retire and now I have I am struggling to handle it! Probably need some time away from here.

People are generally touchy at the moment I've found.

It doesn't help, on here, when a handful of people deliberately go out to slyly provoke arguments then act the innocent when they get the reaction they're desperate for.

Some of them are so childish they go round other forums with the same routine ...

... without the internet they'd be very lonely people.

Your the 3rd poster to announce that to the site and the 3rd poster that hasn't really put me on ignore.

I'll happily do it for you, though, chump.

Ive just read that Labour are arguing amongst themselves over the plan to increase the minimum wage to £15 an hour if it gains power. Well **** off man! How is that sustainable?

It's not. Imagine running your own small business and having to pay your staff £15 an hour?

    Dangerous people these socialists.

But putting it simply, if they up the minimum wage, then the cost of living will just go up with it? So it would make no difference? Instead of paying £8.91 for your shopping you'd be paying £15?

£15 an hour to flip burgers in McDonald’s… can you imagine?

The minimum wage is too low and it should be looked at but £15 is ridiculous and typical of the loony left.

This is the thing isn't it?
-A Labour government comes in with an unsustainable fiscal/financial policy.
-Everyone is happy for a bit.
-Then the economy goes tits up.
-Conservative government comes in with stringent policies to get the economy back on its feet. Cuts to public spending etc.
-"The Tories are evil" claim the left.
    - The populous starts to agree with them and Labour promise to spend profligately.
    And repeat ad infinitum
Its about time someone else had a go.

I employ 13 staff, if the minimum wage goes anywhere near £15 an hour unfortunately at least 4 of they will be out of a job, how is that benefiting my workers

Of course it would make a difference. If you're running a business relying on imports & exports, try palming that cost onto your international trading partners and it immediately becomes unsustainable.

Thank **** that knackers gone. Was ruining a very interesting thread as it's always (in my opinion of course) interesting to see how different people view things.

Bringing up Saff's mam was way out of order

Theres 650 ish of them and I reckon you could count the decent ones on your fingers and toes (my opinion only and in no way have I gone through all of them to apply "ratings"). Not a great proportion of them in other words.

Maybe more go into it for the right reasons but I think those reasons cease to be the main driving force behind them soon after. It opens doors, introduces people they normally wouldn't have access to and changes their perspectives pretty quickly and although they may still speak of "the struggle" that they are trying to eliminate there's little appetite for real change in them after a few years in post. They no longer connect with the people they are supposed to be representing no matter what their background. How can you when you circulate among the most powerful people in society, especially when you don't want to piss them off cos you maybe want to move away from it into a highly paid job at the end of your time in the house of commons.

I wonder how Nick Clegg would have faired if he had been responsible for making Zuckerberg less rich during his time piggybacking the tories in government? He was a snake if ever we saw one but then again he was another public school educated arse pretending he was your mate to get a vote in a deprived northern town.

It'll make no difference to the people who suddenly think they are quids in on £15 a week is what I mean. It would just mean the cost of living will go up. It would just cause a mini hyper inflation wouldnt it? Also I'm on a, what I think is a decent wage at present, around £15 an hour I think. So now can I expect a wage increase to around £21 an hour? Will everybodies wage increase as a result? Pandemonium!

Yeah, mate. Imagine how much it would cost the taxpayer to support people out of work <yikes>

We'd be like Venezuela in no time. It's just crazy talk and on top of these huge wage increases they're still talking about handing free broadband out to everybody. We'd be quids in and the richest people in the world. For a few months.

I didnt bother voting at the last election. I'd be like a turkey with a choice of voting for the Thanksgiving Democrats or the Monster Raving Loony Christmas Dinner Party.
