I feel that everything they come out with they just dig a deeper hole into oblivion. Most people wish there was a credible alternative to the Tories but there isn’t, so we are stuck with what we’ve got.

Exactly this, Give me a decent alternative and I'll vote for it. At the moment, the Conservatives seem to be the party that represent my views the most. Ideally a new centre party would be born and I'd happily give my vote to them if I thought they were credible.

At the moment, it's a case of pick a left wing party or the Tories. We are a nation that naturally leans to the right, so obviously the Tories are going to continue to reign supreme against the left wing socialists that are kicking about now.

I've never seen Boris Johnson merchandise being promoted or thousands of people singing a song about him. Like you say, that is frightening for a politician to be held up in a sort of God-like status.

I’ve quoted trauma research you’ve quoted your personal experience. Quote something worth respecting and I’ll respect it. Don’t 100% agree with Norton but his view deserves respect.

I agree with the first half of your post but not the second. It’s clear that the the Tories are thoroughly incapable - look at the state of things. It’s a **** state in all but the minor parties. I’d vote for a **** state not run by rich toffs personally, but no idea why people think this farce of a government are credible. Iff do the media was balanced there’d be hell on about this government. UK politics is becoming about the least worst. Personally I think the Tories are the worst.

I find the fixation with Boris pretty scary but I also detested people singing the Jeremy Corbyn song. Both need to do something to earn it. Neither have. Arguably both have destabilised the UK.

There's no way of telling of course, but I think they're only the worst because they're the ones in power. If it was someone else in power, then they would be the worst. If you see what I'm getting at.
I thought Angela Rayner's comments over the weekend, no matter how much truth there was in them, epitomised the low level that politicians across the board now occupy. I can't respect someone in public office who goes on like that.
Personally, I don't care how rich or posh someone is, as long as they do the job well.

Rayner should have been promptly removed for her actions and replaced by Lisa Nandy. I don't agree with half of what Nandy says but there's no denying that she's a people person who understands the working class in these areas up here.

Personally I can’t get over this Tory media lark, if it wasn’t for the Tory media this, if it wasn’t for the Tory media that, it’s the same Newspapers that are owned by the same group who kept Blair in power for god knows how many years. The only thing that has changed is Labour are unelectable because they are dire, nothing else.

The thing is, the broadcast media, particularly the BBC and Channel 4, are unashamedly left-leaning. Its only really a handful of newspapers and Piers Morgan that aren't <laugh>

But surely if most people have any sense they would vote for the least worst rather than the worst

Yeah, that usually turns out well <laugh>

A poster from the March 1933 elections.

‘The more power you give Hitler, the easier he will win and the more independent you make him from the parties that led the people to where they are today. You gave these parties 14 years to ruin Germany! Give Hitler four years to rebuild it!

You give Hitler power and time by voting HITLER!’

So are you saying the other party was even worse than Hitler as he was voted in?

I’m jot a fan of Rayner but look at Cash, Bone Patel Johnson Mogg for dreadful comments. It matters to me that people elected understand my life. Decisions will be made around understanding. If you don’t know you don’t care. Johnson hasn’t got a clue and every chancellor the Tories have is an inherited millionaire.

That’s where we disagree. I’d say this the worst Tory government never mind the worst option.
