He's not been training as much... Wilder can't just suddenly become a better boxer but he can bring something new that nobodies seen him doing. I'm concerned but hopefully fury bulldozes him again. No British fight for undisputed now, so it's all on fury.
Pretty poor from AJ, never tried to put it on him. Looked a bit scared of getting caught or genuinely thought he could outbox the guy. Either way he got it badly wrong. Showed again that missing out on that amateur background, really learning your ring craft, how to adapt mid fight, is always going to hinder his boxing IQ. AJ's camp seemed to think Usyk would tire late and be stopped. That might have been the case if you'd made him engage close over the rounds but he stood on the outside trying to outbox him. Got beat to the punch time and again. If that is plan A (which was crazy) you're ditching that after round 3 if you're smart. Lucky not to get stopped, when he did go for it, it was late and he was too tired after being led a merry dance. AJ can probably beat him but he only ever seems to have one plan laid out before the fight, if it doesn't work, he can't seem to adapt. He should have been leaning on him and rough housing him, Chisora had already shown that messed Usyk's rhythm up. AJ just stood and let him box. Obviously had to take the fight as mandatory and you could see all week Hearn knew the cash cow was at risk. Hearn might be greedy and dislikeable but he knows boxing, he has seen enough good fighters to know what the Usyk's are capable of. He never looked confident all week. Stylistic nightmare for AJ. Joshua will always have a punchers chance but the Ruiz and Usyk defeats do look to have exposed him against smaller guys who box/move. Fury is a bigger target but he'd still pose some of the puzzles AJ struggles to solve.
AJ was outclassed but still a good boxer with a respectable record. He couldn't have done more to try and make big fights happen and please his fans. He deserves respect.
