So many false dawns, I just hope and pray that this one does go the distance, and we get a decent owner at the helm, bring back the belief in the club that someone is actually interested ! Wasn't it Michael Knighton who was going to be the new Man Utd owner parading on the pitch with scarf n arl ! Keeping me fingers crossed !
This Ilicali chap should get some proper assurances that if he does make a deposit he'll get his money back when it all goes tits up.
We are all know the slippery snake oil salesman will add £6m to the agreed price hours before the deal is signed off
Oh I always thought it was Ehab? Assem wasn’t doing anything with the club during the Grieve saga was he? Wasn’t he ill or staying away?
Ehab prolonged the negotiations, requests for information went unanswered, maybe even took a holiday in the midst of it all. Anyway, the stalling tactics worked, insomuch as it allowed time for Papa to be present at the signing off on the deal. And his first real contribution to the negotiations was to ask 6 million more for the SMC. Grieves and co, promptly walked out. Yes, yes, all ancient history, as is the, counter response. If they were really serious about buying an English, or any football club, which one did they buy? They didn't.
After the Grieves deal collapsed, they went all sweet on the Dai family, who were serious about buying a football club. To lose one buyer may seem a tad unfortunate, but to lose two? Though in fairness, this deal was knocked back by the Prem, some concerns about finance. They bought Reading from Thai (brother and sister) owners. Confusing isn't it?
It was Assem that slung in the last minute £6m extra for the SMC, but I'm not sure he was actually aware of Ehab's jerking around that they'd already been subject to.
With a brain like mine it's positively madness. I have the memory of a... A thing... You know, that thing with lots of holes in it that my missus uses in the garden. No wait, the kitchen... I'm supposed to be cooking tea tonight, but they say I should just go to bed...
