Thought we managed the game quite well after the spuds scored. It was clear that they would up their game for 10-15 mins and I liked the way we broke up play with fouls, used tactical subs etc. Might not be pretty, but it’s effective <ok>

Loved this btw - what a performance by Auba all-round. One of his best ever centre forward displays for Arsenal IMO.

Yeah, I think it’s more that I feel we should have retained the ball better and felt there were phases of the 2nd half where we were dropping too deep when it wasn’t necessary.

The Spurs players weren’t working hard off the ball, so all we needed to do was control the ball and we wouldn’t have needed to dig in or be scrappy.

Nonetheless, it doesn’t matter now <diva>

Tomiyasu already looking great at Arsenal.

Good defensively and decent getting forward. We did drop off in terms of intensity late on.

    Good performances all round really.

Yeah would have liked to see better ball retention and not dropping so deep, but that’s kind of inevitable when the oppo score. We’d also put in a huge shift up to that point so it was expected that our physical levels would drop a bit.

Given that we weren’t keeping the ball, I think the combo of niggly fouls and tactical
Subs was a good approach and showed that we have some resilience

He had Son in his back pocket the whole game. Apart from his goal (which I think Ramsdale should have saved really) Son did nothing.

Looking like a tremendous signing so far.

Right guys, here's another collection of views from 'The Fighting Cock' - the largest Spurs' fan forum on the internet - let's see how their wonderful predictions went.

This is what they were saying pre-game...

CSWY: "Gil to come on for the last half hour and set up a late winner for H. 1-2. Cue delirium!"
Darnswim: "MUST. WIN. ****ing hate them with all my being. We're ****, but they're even more ****ing ****. No excuses to not win this one."
FOK: "I just want us to hit them, and hit them hard. CU**S"
kolyID: "This is literally the easiest match we have had all season. The South London Wanderers are the worst team in the league"
Bazali: "They’re ****e and so is their joke of a cone placing manager. We can take them and out sing their joke fans. Bring it on"
Sumo70's: "We could all use a happier week ahead, with 3 points against that heap of manure."
BoltonSpur: "I think we will win this one comfortably....woolwich are **** and we need to put some points between us again. Hopefully we can stick a few past them to get their GD back in serious ****"

    <laugh><laugh><laugh><laugh>

Now let's see what they're saying during the game...

SydneySpur: "They are really stylin & profilin on us."
mick cooper: "**** me, this is a nightmare"
ArcspacE: "This could be our most shameful result in a generation"
    pakistani-spur: "I cut short a DATE for this ****"
Radical Rei: "Fans walking out already pretty embarrassing."
JIMINHO: "I haven’t turned a spurs game off early since that Bayern game but I’ll be turning it off now at half time if I don’t see an inkling of hope. Worst performance, team….everything I’ve seen in over a decade. Atrocious"
Fazz: "Sack Nuno, sell Kane. Burn the stadium"

<rofl><rofl> Oh dear. Not happy, are they?

    And now for post-match reactions:

Nabil Bentaleb: "Henry laughing his ass off in the crowd. The last straw"
Sundowner: "And we all made fun of Arteta

TheRealTI: "There's no accountability for this corrupt officiating is there"
simfin: "I know we have been ****e, but Woolwich are always ****in lucky."
TheYearOfOne: "Pretty Spursy to have all these defensive managers and still concede loads of goals

    "
    1882: "MIND THE CRAP"
HampshireSpur: "Levy struts around the club like darth vader. Everyone is **** scared of him and has to say yes to him. Time over levy. Your empire has crumbled."

    Isn't this a glorious sight? :1980_boogie_down:

Arsenal were great today. I’m not a fan of Aubameyang but that first half was as good a CF performance as I’ve seen in quite some time. The Hale End duo ran the show really.

If Arteta backs this performance up against Brighton he just might have won over some of the critics.

So far, all the teams who have done recent rebuilds (Chelsea, Leicester, West Ham) are thriving. Arsenal and Villa look to be following suit. If Tottenham don’t do a rebuild soon they will be left behind whilst Chelsea, West Ham and Arsenal are all in Europe.

****ing brilliant result mate. Loved it <ok>

Those first three games this season were a bit misleading, because I think we were always going to lose to you and city, but Arteta was still in the transfer market sorting out the players he wanted.

I think he’s basically got the team he wants now, bar one or two and now is the time to see what this group can do together.

On another note mate, get yourself over to the Premier league board. Some ****ing ****s n giggles to be had over there. <ok>

Xhaka's been ruled out for 3 months. Knee ligament damage. No surgery needed, but that's a big blow considering our lack of depth and experience in midfield. Partey's also not reliable fitness wise.

I'm not Xhaka's biggest fan, but we lack numbers in that area. Time for Ainsley and Sambi to get more minutes and show what they can do. May have to consider promoting Patino as emergency cover too.

They think Xhaka fouled Hojbjerg in the build-up to Aubameyang's goal, that Xhaka got away with too many fouls without getting booked and that White's challenge on Kane was a penalty.

oooh hope they stop bleating soon, rather salty.

they would be the same ones who didn’t see any fouls by Kane with his signature “back in to jumping player” move that he got away with all of last season
