Finally saw the game. Fantastic game.. full credit to Brentford. I do think we were the better team but Brentford played well and earned their goals.

Should have been a penalty for Jota near the end there though.

Is this going to be another season where the yellow kit is unlucky?

We see it every time we have a yellow away kit.
. Yellow is the colour of doom for Liverpool... We should never play in yellow.

/ All the yellow kit's fault we dropped.two points.

Brentford are this seasons Leeds (and Sheff Utd before that).

Always one promoted team that are fueled by the excitement of being in the PL, upping the passion and energy they play with. Tip them to take points off a number of teams (especially at home). Just hope they can cause the other 'big' clubs as many problems.

For Brentford, next season will be the judge of where they're at rather than this.

People clamouring to sign Toney: he'll go to united, citeh or Chelsea, so forget that one

    Nah, he's this seasons Bamford.

He'll have a really good first season and then settle into being a decent PL player at Brentford. And if Brentofrd get relegated in the future, he'll bounce around a few mid table Prem teams.

You're right because it's all a novelty to them right now. They're enjoying themselves and it's paying off. The rest of us are too scared to **** up and be judged so more often than not we do. Strange psychology, but it's working for Brentford at the moment.

Away to Brentford this season, many teams will find it difficult. Brentford deserves their draw, nothing should be taken away from them

Firstly, I have to say well done to Brentford because they were excellent and did something that I have very rarely seen over the past 3 years with VVD and that was bully us in every department.

Now let's look at us. It was probably our worst defensive performance (as a unit) in a long time and I'd even argue it was worse than the 7-2 vs Villa. I'm shocked more than anything because these two CB's are top class and have dealt with so many physical battles and won them all pretty much. Matip and VVD struggled to deal with Toney and his partner all throughout the game (moreso Matip who arguably had his worse game for us).

Robbo's poor form continues - his attacking output has been woeful for a year but at least he was still good defensively but that was so poor. Constantly deeper than the others and for me, there is a real argument for Kostas to be starting more games now. On the ball, Trent was awful and whilst I think he could have done better defensively at times, he was completely outnumbered. He received zero support from Matip and from Hendo.

Which now leads me to the midfield because this was unacceptable across the board. And it highlights how important Thiago and Naby are (also Gini) because they are the ONLY two players who can play the disciplined role on the left side. Jones is a classy player and scored a great goal but he is atrocious off the ball. Defensively, concentration, positioning - everything. He's simply not ready to play that role. Fabinho had a very poor game and it felt like he hardly won the ball back but his only saving grace is that he had FAR too much space to cover because the number 8's were awol. Now we move onto Hendo who has been pathetic defensively all season. Granted, he's now contributing more going forward and it was a lovely cross vs Brentford and a cracker vs Milan but he is leaving far too much space in behind him and that is where teams are targeting us. This isn't his fault - Klopp needs to surely realise Hendo can't play this new advanced RCM role because he simply doesn't have the legs to cover the ground (which males giving him a 4 year deal even more daft). Hendo can only play one position and role - RCM and held back. He cannot play anywhere else, simple as.

Now the attack - whilst they did miss a couple of golden chances, I will cut them slack because they still did create and score 3 goals.

Our midfield and defence really let us down and I'm in shock because we're just not used to being bullied like we were.

Another thing, we never really had any period of dominance or sustained period - and that is what helps us to grind teams down. The lack of a controlled presence in midfield really hurt us and unfortunately, we are reliant on Thiago and Naby to play that role.

Was just really poor game management tbh. Brentford just knocked long balls into Toney who won every header against Matip and then played from those knockdowns.

It reminded me of Chelsea v Arsenal earlier in season. Chelsea pings balls into Lukaku who bullied the CB’s and there was no midfield in front to stop it and just worked it from there. Then we played chelsea and Fabinho effectively stood infront of Lukaku and cut that ball out and Chelsea had no other tactic to go to.

It was almost like we showed Brentford no respect in that we just assumed we had better players so didn’t need to adjust tactics. After 20 minutes was calling out for Fabinho to go stand infront of Toney. Make it 2v1 from those long balls. 1, stops Toney bringing it down, and even if you don’t win the headers, if he’s challenging v 2 then less likely to flick it onto a team mate.

Hopefully was just a poor day all round v a team that will cause worse defences a lot of issues, but it’s worrying how out of shape we were from crosses. The second goal when TAA was marking 3 at the back post then 3rd goal were he had 2 more is just poor communication all round.

Yep, every time Brentford went forward, it felt like they would trouble us on every occasion. And it's just so surprising because we are so good and dominant in the air. The first goal - Jones ball watching, Robbo could have done better to stop the cross and Fabinho too slow to react. The second goal, Trent had no protection down this side and then VVD too slow to react. Brentford were really good - they overloaded the flanks and then overloaded the far post. Pretty much won every ball and second ball. Everything seemed so slow and lethargic. Really shocked by our performance but let's hope it's just a blip.

One thing is for sure, the midfield needs addressing because there was little control. Not saying Thiago / Naby on the left would have stopped us from conceding but we would have had a bit more control

Three well worked goals from us and three of the scrapiest, scrambled goals you'll ever see for them. Our worst defensive display so far but some lovely football as well. Didn't see any great football from Brentford, they just never gave up. As already mentioned they are running on adrenaline atm, it won't last.

I watched their full game against Wolves last week (not sure how that happened. I turned the telly on and it was on and before I knew it, I'd sat and watched the whole game). Their time wasting tactics and general gamesmanship are outrageous and not something I like to see. Klopp mentioned it before the game. This week their number 3 stopped play three times by sitting down on the pitch when he was well able to walk off. Random falls to the ground to break our momentum. Last week the keeper stopped play just after half time while someone ran off to get him a new pair of gloves!

I think the scoreline was a fair result of how the game played out but it was our failures rather than it being a genuine 50/50 game that made it that way. Look forward to them taking points from our rivals. I can also see several controversies surrounding their games.

Not a chance us he going anywhere near those 3 clubs. A big target man?? They all have one. Cavani, (wants kane) and lucky.

Tobey btw is another Phillip's for leeds. Going to be vastly over rated by virtue of a couple of decent games. Another is watkins at villa

As I said, if you are settling at 2-1 or 3-2 then everyone needs to do it. Not half of them..

We stopped really going for attacks but then piled on after giving it away looking to press fast but the ball sailed over their heads and it was a defence v attack game.

If we are going to stop then all 11 sit back and invite then on for counter attacks.

Watching Henderson as the no 6 beside fabinho in a 4231 burst on looking to press up then leaving gaps everywhere was depressing. All he needed to do was fill pace and let the others press as there were 4 of them.

I thought Toney had a good game and looked decent... but at no point did I think "we need to sign him".

This is sort of what I was talking about
Which is why I wanted to play at Anfield first
I think that will be one of their best performances this season tbh
I think city and Chelsea will crush them tbh
Not as sure on Utd 50/50 either way

I think the city result is now massive
    But first porto <yikes>

I really rate Philips, not so much for what i've seen of him playing for Leeds, but rather from England games. He's great at breaking up play, keeps possession and has an eye for a through ball.
