need a serious kick in the ****s.
The poor girl has been terrified of global decimation from 8 years old because of them and now they are using her to stay in the news.

    https://news.sky.com/video/greta-th...the-streets-to-demand-climate-action-12416820

They need to explain to her why global leaders are meeting on this very problem and why it's headline news every day, we know about it and are acting as well as we can.
She needs somebody (not her parents) to explain to her that 200 years of industrialised advancement and hundreds (thousands in reality) of years of dependancey on fossil fuels cannot be reversed over night.

This is mental torture from a very early age and should be addressed.

The climate is getting a lot worse like, I'm looking at Australia btw, who have an enormous coal industry that basically controls politicians. Those ****s have one of the worlds largest uranium deposits and don't use ANY nuclear energy. Cept to now power their subs.

I dunno, I hear when she was 11 she starved herself because she was so nervous about climate change, but she's also been diagnosed with OCD and Asbergers, so obviously her ability to process things normally is poor.

Was going to highlight bits of this post to answer but realised it would be almost every line <laugh>

The aussises have no nuclear capability of their own which is why they have outsourced subs and have no power stations.
Greta has had climate change forced into her mind from 8 years old and has never had a carefree childhood and is still being used, not a thing a caring parent would do. She should be kept up to date with global discussions to try and calm her and allow her to enjoy life as best she can.

Yeah, the aussies having no nuclear power capabilities is kinda the point. They should, they're one of the worlds absolute worst breaking of the Paris Climate agreement, they will be anally raped at the next meeting. If they can negotiate an 80 billion dollar agree with the French for a submarine they'll never ****ing use, they can do something about their climate change commitments.

    This applies to many nations.

I have no insight into Greta's childhood, but she has learning difficulties and if she read something about climate change and it struck her then she likely couldn't divert herself from it. 4

This seems like a weird thing to go mental about, the girl seems perfectly fulfilled.

You are not fulfilled if you are permanently frightened or angry. the poor lass is 18yo (i think) and has been on this trip for 10 years, so much fun to miss out on.

The Aussieses have stayed away from nuclear because it's building up problems for future generations (like Greta), the power stations ore quite clean to run but the de-commissioning will pose problems for centuries, still, we can hide the waste in deep caves for others to discover in the future <whistle>

I like greta she's a brave girl......she's also a good example of the kids who care about their surroundings and everything that lives on it.

More like her in politics and the world could be a better place

She's an easy target because she's a girl and she's more intelligent and informed than a lot of the adult population.

Folk are threatened by her, so it's easier to ridicule her.

Aus have no nuclear subs, they will have American boats in the future through lease. Nuclear is good, but what do we do with the waste once the plants is done?

Canada are looking at possible underground storage of waste, they have a rock formation that has no cracks that they feel will be good.

then using 3mx3m nickel and copper sealed capsules it is possible to place waste inside and store. The copper being non reactive and the buckle to prevent corrosion

I believe 3,000 so far are looking to be ordered for the decommissioning of Sellafield alone.

then what the france will do, 22 miles over the channel they have lots of stations!

it is an idea, floated in an Engineering review. The only risk would be failure on launch, making a dirty bomb!

sure Mr Musk has thought about the revenue it would raise for SpaceX

She’s an adult now and makes her own decisions.

Her fascination with this subject was always hers if you listen to her actual story.

The patronising element of that post ffs “somebody (probably a middle aged man no doubt) should have a word with the little poppet & tell her you don’t undo 200 years worth of damage overnight’ How about she’s speaking out to exert pressure, as so far literally nothing has changed in terms of the targets set, CO2 isn’t decreasing, these ****s need to stop talking and start doing, like yesterday.

    1. Her parents deserve an award for making your piss boil.

    2. Was this post caused by you drinking cider through a straw by any chance?

    3. She deserves an award for making your piss boil.

    4. Get a life mate.

    5. She spends her time trying to save the planet...even if you think she is mistaken about the possibility of the planet being destroyed or saved it is weird as **** for such an old bastard to write such an angry post about a young person who is passionate about not destroying the planet.
(Your the old bastard in this scenario btw
    <whistle>)

    6. Get a grip ffs.

    7. This is a football forum ... not a I hate climate change activists forum.

    8. You and late night posts <laugh>

Mine are 16, 21 and 29 (daughters) ... it was very noticeable that each became very much their 'own person' somewhere within the year 7, year 8 timeframe at school ... very much the same with their mates and, I suspect, young Greta is no different...

Convenient for climate change sceptics to blame it all on political activist parents ... but frankly that's just a load of convenient denial bollocks ... my girls are not particularly political ... but Christ are they opinionated ... about everything <laugh>
