When Gray scored in the first minute it looked inspired, but ultimately Warburton got this wrong. We should have played our game, not theirs.
We did that last season against Barnsley and got destroyed. If Dieng doesn’t throw one in he’s being hailed for a tactical masterstroke. This is a good side. Four games in a row we haven’t got what we deserved. That won’t last.
I know we’ve scored a fair few goals (and conceded enough to boot) but I still feel we’re lacking quality supply in the final third. I agree with your comments on Chair. Think we’ve missed Wallace and Field, but that’s no excuse. Three defeats on the trot; not anywhere near what we’d hoped for. Yeah, mid table at best so far.
The own goal turned it. Gave them a way in and provided them with the impetus. Poor mistake to make in a big game. A draw would have been a good result for us, but to be fair they earned the win. Would always have been a tough game for us, we almost took some points from them. Pissed of? Yeh. But we move on and need to pick ourselves up, dust ourselves down and get back on track.
Lost 3 on the bounce now. We need to halt that slide very quickly. We're entertaining to watch on the ball, but incredibly easy to get at and lightweight in too many areas. Just disappointed that our early promise this season is turning to ****. I really believe that we'll be good to watch, whilst conceding far too many goals to get near promotion.
Oh, we're still a good side alright, but Warburton's tactics didn't allow us to show it tonight. They were always going to score, even without Dieng's ****-up.
I dont agree with that. As with Barnsley last season under this guy, we struggled to play our game because their press is second to probably, only Leeds. If it wasnt for a gk error we would have had something out of that game. We didnt have chance to play our passing game because of their style. The only thing i would have dine differently at half time is to have brought Chair off instead of Willock and to taken Johanson off much earlier as he was a complete passenger. Ball did his work and most of Johansons! We were very unlucky tonight against one of the best teams that ive witnessed so far.
What a ****ing shocking second half. Chair should be shot, first not crossing for Dykes to have a tap in and then poncing about on half way yet again leading to their winner. Kakay is a clown we all know that, our own fault for not having ample backup. Dieng what can you say, terrible error and lapse in concentration which he almost did again moment's later. Gray looked out on his feet after 50 mins and was awful. I can't understand Warburton taking off Willock for Dykes, surely it was crying out for Adomah with our gameplan. More injuries to add into the mix too it's been a terrible run. Another game thrown away and nothing to show for it, manager has to take the flack but individual errors are costing us big time !
I actually stick by what I said earlier. I think we should have turned up today to impose more of our style of play on the game. We tried to play based on their type of game. Like I said, I feel we should have had one of Chair or Willock dropping back at times to put numbers into the midfield, to try and carry the ball through midfield and drag their players around. Also, bringing on another striker was a mistake. We are not good with long ball, plain and simple. Dykes barely got a touch, so was a waste. Could have had Adomah or Thomas/McKenna (if he was on the bench?)
Im sticking my neck out, full credit to Warburton tonight. I would have made different subs but in my opinion his tactics were bang on. Diengs fumble wasnt part of the tactics, nor was Chair pissing about with it.
One of the best teams? **** that. They're awful to watch and we decided to try and match their horrible style. Wrong tactics.
Must have seen a different game to you. Their style (just as barnsley were) is to press like **** in the opposition half. We didnt have chance to play our game because they were better at theirs than we were at ours.
