Felt we played really well tonight, couldn't give a **** if genk offered little in attack because man who played a team i've never even heard of last night and could only manage a 2-0 win due to 2 penalties, and barca played another team i've never heard of and only managed a 2-0 win so a 5-0 win against a team probably better than the teams them 2 played is a very good result. Thought our play was beautiful, shame kalou had to score that 5th goal, great goals from torres loved the header goal, anelka quality as he has been all season, malouda was his usual self - a selfish **** that don't even think about passing, romeu was outstanding as was meireles bar a couple of crap shots but we was just having fun ! Thought meireles and torres linked up perfectly. Luiz worried me a bit at times but i just can't bring myself to criticize him because you just look at him and he makes you laugh and his just absoulete quality and his pre match blessing on torres obviously worked. Glad we kept a clean sheet aswell that makes Cech happy, glad avb took ash off at half time as well because he needs and deserves a rest. 5-0 win, 2 goals from torres, beautiful passing and over 600 completed passed = Perfect game and perfect night. Bring on CPR ... i mean DPR... i mean LPR... errr help me out lads what team are we playing on sunday, i know there only down the road but i've still never heard of em lol !
I'm sorry to have to keep repeating myself, but we are getting better by the game . We rested all the key men tonight and still didn't move out of second gear! Happy days Blues!
De Bruyne played some nice through balls and such, but he completely disappeared in the second half. I think I only heard his name mentioned when his anonymity was brought up. Just seemed to give up, which is understandable given the game but still not something I'd like in a player.
Coming to us would be a massive step up but if he'd have played for us last night instead of say Malouda, I'm sure he would have done a lot more. Not a lot you can do when most of the team around you is playing so poor. I'm not saying he looks a world beater yet but looked by far their most talented player and looks well built for his age too which always helps.
The boys only young and our interest is in his potential rather than how good he is right now. His crossing was very good, it's just that none of the Genk forwards could get on the end of them. As for Romeu, I saw him in the Carling cup game and was very impressed with him then and that was cemented for me last night. The boy looks very classy indeed. I thought that Meireles was excellent last night. We really have options in midfield now with him, Frank, Mata, Malouda, Romeu, Ramires Mikel and Josh.
