Dan James was the 5th fastest player at the Euro's this Summer, clocking up a top speed of 33.5 km/h, and covered a total distance of 31.6 km.
Playing devils advocate . We crashed and burned during the latter stages of the 18/19 season, as the Blades made up a 10 point gap we had over them. In the 19/20 Championship winning campaign, we had a three month rest to recharge our batteries, and finish our remaining 9 games. Last season, we played through the season, only getting stronger and fitter! Who's to say that the physical exertion hasn't caught up with the team?
You're the hardest man on 606 Elland...............................................behind your keyboard
What worries me Elland, if and yes it's a big IF, if we do get dragged into a relegation fight, will our foreign imports have the bottle or will they sulk and want to move away. The more concerning thing is will we lose Bielsa.
So moving away from the positive/negative argument I may have inadvertently started I wanna share a story I heard last night. So I'm in my local pub. I am chatting with another regular who is in his seventies. He is a Leeds fan as well and we have always chatted Leeds related stuff. Last night he says to me "you remember when I told you about meeting John Charles?" Ermm no, this was me information despite knowing this guy for ten years. He proceeds to tell me about being on holiday in Spain in a fancy hotel in the 1970's with his wife and daughter. Before the evening meal while his wife and daughters were still getting dressed he went to the bar to have a drink or two. There was only one other person at the bar so he got talking to him, the one and only John Charles. His wife was also getting ready for dinner. My friend had drinks every night with John Charles. How lucky was that? Anyone else have any player/manager encounters to tell?
Not only do we have an off form team(some may disagree), we also have to factor in our injuries, VAR and the ref.
Don't think anyone can argue with that. Injuries have blighted us again right from the start. But I have faith that the team will find form again. No need to panic.........yet.
I'm not really panicing DirtyLeeds because the way I look at it is even if we were relegated(I don't think that'll happen) I will still have a team to support. I keep hoping that the next game we'll be back to how we were last season, but until we get our injured back, we may struggle.
Think the ref against Burnley robbed us of the full 3 points bud. Extremely poor finishing v the bar codes was the difference and we got a point. So if rodrigo is not a striker and the same for roberts then we must start gelherdt. But no we will get a square peg i can see it coming.
That's another way of looking at it Wakey. At least the injuries are more or less forcing Bielsa into trying some of our younger stars.
