Well Mason's career as an opener was short lived.

Such a ****ing stupid idea. It would have been better to send in someone who would give the ball a whack.

If we don't win the CC it will be our abysmal top order batting that will have costed us.

Seriously Gubbins? If you can't block a straight one then you shouldn't call yourself a batsman.

    What's a decent score here? 100? 125?

A lead of 150 would be very difficult to chase down. 120-130 may be enough. Not easy to bat on no doubt but too many loose shots early in an innings doesn't help either.

Decent innings (finally) from Weatherley. 33 in the circumstances is pretty good.

Warwickshire still chipping away, Azhar Ali was a big wicket earlier on. Looks like it's all falling into place for them unfortunately, needs Davies, Gregory & Overton to get them past the follow-on and then try to get the deficit under 100. The Bears will have to bat quickly and take chances, you never know there might be a second innings collapse on the cards?!

I've been trying to stay motivated and hopeful. But that Warks 350 was so deflating, and I just don't see Somerset stopping them.

It's a shame, because this Vince-Dawson partnership is beginning to move us into an alright position.

The one frigging time that you want the Somerset lower order to perform... and they don't have RVDM or De Lange!!

As far as I can tell, Somerset have nothing to play for - They're already last in Div 1, and I don't think that a win will improve things. As such, Somerset can slow down their innings, block everything, and stay in as long as possible, in other words bat out for a draw. As such, Warwickshire may be unable to beat Somerset, simply because Somerset are not interested in getting a result. At least, that's what I'm hoping will happen. # Straw clutching

We basically did exactly that to Warks 10 years ago. Batted them into a draw, and it handed Lancs the title.

Could be something similar this time.

We really need Somerset to post a first innings score north of 300 at the very least. Make Warks have to bat longer in their 2nd innings.
