Unfortunately I burned them on my bonfire them with some custard, but in particular can we have less of the hysteria please.
Agreed. I mean there would literally be 100's people about if he was there. No news until 29th CAT case which is live apparently. It will go like this. "case for PL to have the jurisdiction thrown out..... denied." "Court adjourned"
Whatever happens with the CAT case should give some indication as to how much chance the club actually has of winning this battle. If it's thrown out then it's probably not going to happen imo. If it gets the nod then I think it'll the premier league will fold before arbitration ever takes place ( been my position for months and months)
Yes probably. The cat case won’t get thrown out. But the PL will appeal. I reckon the next 6 months will be it in terms of the destination of our club. I was speaking to a high ranked Celtic employee (totally unconnected I know) and the discussions in his circle is that they believe the ECL will happen and that Celtic are going to start planning for it. Take from that what you will but for me it’s a big indication that world football is going to change and there is nothing the PL can do. So they might need PIF believe it or not.
Weirdly I was just thinking today that the ESL would invite rangers and Celtic. PIF would surely go elsewhere though because it would mean nufc couldn't be grown
It's amazing how little rich people understand. I mean the ultimate juxtaposition is football - the sport of the working (at best) classes, where Marcus Rashford can go from bedsit and not eating food to a millionaire - being owned, run and dominated by silver spoon fat cat ****s. It will eat itself. Man City already can't get people into the stadium, but when people start turning off the repetitive CL/ESL bullshit, selling advertising or rights will plummet and what will they do then? They'll have already turned off scores of middling fans, fed up and frustrated at the corruption. Even trying to go back won't work, because nobody will care. The worry is the corrupt are leading the corrupt. Anyone thinking this (or any other) Gov is going to block it is out of their mind.
I agree and it's also amazing how many fans still haven't figured it out. I keep hearing them saying " great let them go" They still haven't realised they aren't going to go anywhere.
That fashion is dope. One foot huge and a little chimp on the side what’s not to like. Fashion! aohhhhhhh I see he’s got a cast on. Ah.
what's your thoughts on an appeal from the PL adding up to 12 months onto any proceedings? PL will appeal if they fail to get it thrown out, can that appeal be turned down almost straight away, as why appeal if that could be the case
They can only appeal on a point of law - CAT misinterpreting Rule 34 Tribunal Rules. They need leave to appeal and the test is very strict. Bearing in mind the experience of the chair I would be very surprised if they did. The Court of Appeal (Civil Division) are notoriously pedantic and stick to procedure. I doubt leave would be given.
My understanding is the PL would need legitimate grounds to appeal, if they were to appeal that would be heard quite quickly. They will be ****ting bricks if it finds in our favour as that sets a precedent they will not want set. Reason they have never refused the takeover outright was that would have allowed a high court battle - again a precedent would then be set that the PL wouldn't want as they like to have their "self governance" to rely on. I think without a doubt Qatar (BEIN) has been the main instigator in this (Just happens to be Garry Hoffman's former employer). However they themselves have started playing more nicely recently as they realised that the bullshit World Cup was going to be a disaster if they couldn't get fans to attend - At the time all this kicked off, U.A.E, Saudi and others in the middle East had a complete transport embargo on Qatar by land, Air and Sea. In addition they will need to somehow get BEIN broadcasting again in Saudi to help pay for their broadcast rights. (Brown paper envelopes proven in that one) A lot of this is down to historic PL greed in my view, as they sold continental packages to a place as volatile as the Middle East rather than individual country licences...... Guess which ****ing dim wit thought that one up (Richard Masters in previous role). I'm guessing a few of them are now starting to cover their arses from previous mistakes and are terrified of being made to look idiotic. In fairness I think Hoffman will be gone very soon regardless of us, after all he can hardly preach fit and proper if he gets done for money laundering in his other business. The PL originally objected to CAT on special grounds of it having to be kept behind closed doors - not how CAT operate and they lost, as I think the club does have a number of pieces of evidence that would be highly embarrassing for themselves and at least 4 other clubs that wouldn't come to light in Arbitration hearings - These won't be heard on the 29th I wouldn't have thought at that point - The PL will start to try and negotiate a way to get the deal done as quickly and as quietly as possible to avoid a precedent being set and any embarrassing evidence aired in public. That's my hope anyway. Just need to cross our fingers the CAT case gets the go ahead.
