There's also a chance we may have another shot on target tomorrow

    Greg Docherty
    Injury: Hamstring

    Target return date: Stoke City

McCann's verdict: “It’s disappointing for Greg, we didn’t do too much with the boys that started on Tuesday at Blackburn.

“They had quite a light day on Thursday and Doc was fine, he was out there (at training) doing a little bit of ball work.

“On Friday he felt his hamstring so we never took a risk."

    Tom Huddlestone

    Injury: Hamstring

Target return date: Before the international break

McCann's verdict: “It’s frustrating for us, though it isn’t too bad so hopefully it’s just a 10-day two-week job.

“We initially thought it could have been bad but the scan shows it’s not too bad. Tom will continue to work hard on his fitness in the gym and in the swimming pool.

“Hopefully we’ll have him back in the not too distant future."

    Alfie Jones

    Injury: Groin

    Target return date: Stoke City

McCann's verdict: "Alfie has only trained the last couple of days.

“We modified yesterday’s training session a little bit, so he didn’t do the whole session."

If modifying it means they are doing work on set piece defending can they have a go at set piece attacking too while they're at it !

Greg Docherty and Alfie Jones are back in training.

Two unnamed players are a doubt.

According to McCann - Randell Williams is close to a return from injury while Tom Huddlestone, George Honeyman and Josh Magennis are all set to return after the international break.

I wasn't actually aware that Williams was injured.

Good news. He always has a peak in form when he comes back.

Is it me or is injury news being kept very quiet by the club this season? What's the word on Alfie Jones after he went off on Saturday, where's Hudd & Honeyman etc?

In McCann's post match interview he stated that Thudd, Honeyman, and Williams were all back training on grass and expected them back after the international break, I think he also mentioned that the game came too soon for Magennis and Elder but wouldn't stop then travelling for the Internationals.

Hull City head coach Grant McCann has confirmed George Honeyman & Tom Huddlestone are fit and available to return for Saturday’s game at Huddersfield.

However, McCann says Alfie Jones is set to be out for “three to four weeks, maybe longer” with the hamstring injury that forced him off against Middlesbrough a fortnight ago.

The City head coach also says his three international players - Josh Magennis, Matt Smith & Callum Elder - have all returned to training and are in contention to feature this weekend.

Good to have the creativity of both Honeyman and Thudd back and in contention

Neither Smith nor Elder played in their fixtures so they should be fresh (though Elder has travelled from Japan, an absolute bastard time difference for jet lag). Magennis played in both NI games, sub in one and starting the other.

Smith probably looked tidy enough in training but didn’t really create anything.

GM - "It's a reoccurrence of the hamstring injury in a different area for Tom Huddlestone. It's a kick in the teeth for us and Tom. We're probably looking at four to six weeks. It's frustrating for Tom but it gives him an opportunity to again work in the gym."

Great shame, he was head and shoulders above everyone on the pitch on Wednesday night!
