It’s so bloody depressing. Encouraging first half with a team that we all hope and dream can become something. And then crash back down to earth with a bang. This is going to be such a long **** season
Pathetic. We can only dream of a goal from a corner, swear if we bought ward-prowse even he’d start hitting the first man every time. Plus the usual spawny Chelsea goal, still got alonsos usual to come as wel
I get that but when we are pleasantly surprised by a half where we look capable it shows that we have seriously regressed. Like you, I expected worse but this is all a bit meh tbh
oh completely. But I’ll take 1 half of football at the moment. It’s been dire since Nov 2019. Any small glimpse of hope. but as CJ says, ultimately, it is bloody depressing. I don’t see Nuno lasting long, to be honest. Won’t be his fault, but levy will make him the scapegoat in the end.
When we went 2 down I looked at the bench ....................like giving a starving dog a rubber bone , lucky to get away with 3 but they are the best side in the league
2 shots on target against a keeper that can’t even dive! Even the small positives in the first half created nothing.
Apart from Son’s chance we didn’t have much else. They definitely had better situations in the first half and then once Kante came on it was so easy for them. I am considering not bothering to watch next weeks game as it will be another weekend ruined!!
Attempts for and against v City ... 13 for 18 against v Wolves ... 8 for 25 against v Watford ... 15 for 9 against v Palace ... 2 for 18 against v Chelsea ... 8 for 20 against Total ... 46 for 90 against in 5 matches An average of 9 attempts per game for An average of 18 attempts per game against In the ECL Pacos (a) 3 attempts for 6 against Pacos (h) 18 attempts for 6 against Rennes (a) 10 attempts for 18 against Total for... 31 (an average of 10 per game) Total against 30 (as above) 3 goals scored in 5 prem games. Only 1 from open play! No goals scored in the last two prem games. 6 goals conceded in the last 2 prem games. This has to improve real soon or it only ends one way.
Decent first half and awful second half Nuno and a lot of these players are well out of their depth against top sides scary times ahead
used to always ruin mine, but there’s been such a disconnect for me since Mourinho took charge. Expect the worst, with dross football. Then anything on top is a bonus.
why you proving me right about Nuno RCL . also thanks for the 3 points as well. Better us winning it than money bags city or IT MEANS MORE TO US SCOUSERS
Let's just see what those perfectly rational people on Twitter are saying ...apparently Kante's shot took a deflection off Joe Lewis
Yeah true I get over it very quickly tbf. It’s just so frustrating when you see our team on paper and what the team cost or what each player at their prime was supposed to be worth, to see how far behind the top teams we are is depressing!!
Can't disagree with your comments from last February when I suggested him tbf. I always support the manager but this is as boring as watching a JM spurs team. 9 attempts per game with 3 on target is beyond tedious to watch. You are light years ahead of us tbf
Three shots on target? That's a dramatic improvement on ubermensch ball... Joking aside, as per usual people look at stats and miss the data: how often in the game did we have the ball out wide, be it Son, Lo Celso, or Dele, but there was nobody in the middle? No surprise we lacked somebody there to put pressure on Kepa...because there was nobody in the middle to put pressure on Kepa Don't assume this is a dogpile, because it isn't, but it is telling that Harry Kane has been removing himself from England games for the past six months or so by dropping off and nobody coming through the centre to fill the gap - and that's being replicated for us so far this season. So the question is who is supposed to be pushing up to fill the gap created by him dropping deep?
I wanted Spurs to play positively, and won't criticize them when they at least did that for a half. That 0-2 loss to Chelsea last year may have been the most unwatchable Spurs game I've ever seen. The biggest problem is that they're not good enough to have much chance against the top teams. Of course, the next biggest problem is that they don't seem to know how to attack. Simply taking open shots would be a step in the right direction. We will see if Nuno will stick to his guns, and if he's able to get Spurs to be something other than toothless when playing positively. He certainly has his work cut out for him, but I hope he continues to try to play football. My two cents would be Ndombele as false nine or Bryan as CAM, on the grounds that they're able to give defenders trouble, and I'm not sure who else can ATM. As bad as the scoreline was, I got a glimmer of hope from the setup and approach.
Btw, there’s no way that was a “net zero emission” game after the amount of **** in that second half.
looking at the first half display, there is a team in there somewhere. But only about 11-14 players in total. Beyond that, there’s such a difference with those who need to step up/rotate. And that will be our downfall, inevitable squad rotation quality and depth.
