Can't remember the old Bridge being packed against anyone,
Even if it was officially full it never looked it because of the acres of closed off terracing with grass growing on it, the derelict dog track with pools of stagnant water, and the fact that you were so far from the pitch that you needed binoculars to identify players. Sure it was great in the 30s though.

I went to most Chelsea home games in the late 70s/80s; and I am afraid Rangers were the worst supported London club at the Bridge. Sorry but that's just fact.

    LOL.

That section by the East Stand was closed off in the 70s, maybe late 70s. Then our capacity was cut from near 60k to 45k under the safety of sports act in 79ish

Even then the Shed held up to 17000. The fullest I saw after then was for a Cup game v Sours and a Christmas match v United when they closed the turnstiles at 2. Maybe around 85.

It's quite a hard one to answer.

Assuming we had the squad we did in 02/03 I would probably say we'd be on Liverpool's level so around about 6th.

That said, if we assume City hadn't been taken over nor Liverpool by foreign investment I would probably say 4th.

It's hard to say because without RA we'd of had to of finished top 4 every season for at least 2 years or gone bust.

Thanks, I don't take anything football related personally at all. Some of my closest childhood friends were West Ham supporters, one of my best mates is an Arsenal fan. Heck I even share a house with an Arsenal fan and Spurs fan, used to work with several Fulham fans and a QPR. Don't mean to dwell into my life story but I'm sure you get my point.

Do not feel you have to justify calling us Scum, I totally understand. London only has radius of around 13 miles or so. We're so bunched together that I'd be surprised if nobody ever came across a fan of a rival club. In my lifetime bar Barnet and Brentford I have met at least one supporter of every club.

You'll get no gloating from me if we win, for all we know you could get the point that costs us the league or a place int he table when the two teams meet at Stamford Bridge later in the season.

Most Fulham and Chelsea fans have welcomed the addition of QPR to the Prem, as much as I hate West Ham get them back in as well, the more London derbies, the better IMO, better atmosphere, banter and less travel for the team etc.

i have been in the Shed end when Rangers played Chelsea. Did it for a laugh but will admit it was a bit stupid. Funny, me and a couple of Rangers joined in a few songs and changed the words. Reckon i only got out alive because i was young and stupid.
As for no rivalry? I was on a tube in the late 80's (think we were coming back from Wimbledon game) and a tube pact full of Rangers stopped at a station (cannot remember which one now) but the platform was full of Chelsea who had a home game. They were singing "hate Rangers"
Anyway the doors opened and We all just looked at each other for a bit, nothing bad and the Driver shut the doors and we started giving it large from behind the doors and then the silly sod of a driver opened them again and it kicked off.
So for me there is a rivalry and the only reason it has changed is because each of our clubs going in a different direction.
I dislike Chelsea because of history and the new fans they have (not saying all are new or bad). But i remember about 5-6 years ago being in a pub and Chelsea was the live game and listening to them give me stick for supporting QPR yet that week i had watched us lose on a Tuesday night at some cold League One ground up north and they sat there with their new replica tops on asking what player was who and they really did not have a clue about their own club. I went to Vauxhall and many long distant trips to watch Rangers and to have muppets like that mock my club does grinde with me. I reckon i saw more Rangers games away that season then the lot of them put together had seen Chelsea ever.
I hope we never go like that.

Just to put my 3 penneth worth in Qpr fans think more of the rivalry than Chelsea,we are like there annoying little brother causing trouble while they play with the big boys and until we establish ourselves in the big league we will always be the little brother,BUT sometimes the little brother gets one over his older sibling and thats when the **** hits the fan, take a point off them Sunday and they will take notice, Cmon UUUURRRRSSS

    Agree with that Peter
Manu/Arse think of Chelsea as Chelsea think of us as we think of Brentford.

DL...you always bang on about Spurs, West Ham, Man U being bigger rivals than QPR mate, but I think that's just cos you don't remember the history between the clubs during the 60s, 70s and 80s. There was always a fierce rivalry and that's why, when the fixtures came out, Sunday's game was the one I looked forward to the most. I know we'll probably get spanked, but I can't wait to be in Loftus Rd whilst again entertaining Chelsea!!

Dont need to Sir Alex said it was their biggest game against Liverpool and Wenger also said Spurs was their big derby game and both said how they knew what it meant to the fans.
Anyone thinks different must be a deluded Chelsea fan.
    Cheers

DL why were you posting on here when your team was playing? Watching real footy is better than writing about it son, even if it is Chelsea vs a Sunday league team. Aside from that keep posting, you seem a nice lad and I enjoy your youthful naivity.

    Mind games.

United's biggest game is against City, everybody knows that. Do you honestly believe Sir Alex would have rested not just Rooney, but Nani, Vidic, Anderson, Hernandez etc if it were their biggest game?

As I said actions speak louder than words.

As for Arsenal there biggest game is Spurs and vice versa. I don't quite see your point with all due respect.

Although your post did sound a little patronising thanks for the feedback anyway. I had the game on TV and as it died down a little I thought I'd pop on my laptop to have a read as I watch.

Thanks for the feedback, I find this board to be one of the better ones regarding football discussion and the views and opinions are interesting.
