I would think that on a basic level, if you perform well you keep your place and If you don’t you lose your place to someone else, after all, we actually have options now. If you don’t do this, and you’re not winning game in game out to justify it, then sooner or later it’s going to cause unrest and problems. What’s the point in performing if you will get dropped anyway. Why should I work hard on the training ground when he’s never going to pick me over players that don’t do it on the pitch. It’s one thing I really don’t like about Ralph. Perraud, Salisu and Djenepo all performed well last week (Djenepo defensively) and they are all dropped. Redmond, Ely and Armstrong were poor or anonymous last week and all keep their places. I also think the defensive unit is faaaaar better off with consistency than it is changing players to try and counter the opposition. Now admittedly Ralph is an expert, works with them all every day, and paid a handsome wedge to do it, so I’m sure he knows best and we will battle to a point today.
Djenepo has had a run of games and created little. Harsh to judge Redmond after one game, particularly as he did well against Newcastle. I feel this is a big one for Elyou. Needs to do more too.
