Same for me - but who else is there out of the current squad? Baker? Kalas? We've lacked a true leader on the pitch since Brownhill left.
I would put Brownhill in the same category as Kalas, a leader by deed but far too quiet. Maybe James? The form of Kalas since not being captain is outstanding.
To be fair Forest are a bigger basket case than us, Jesus Christ or his agent here on earth saint Pep Guardiola would not have stopped the rot there. Just like Derby, Sheff Wednesday, Swindon etc. a ****tily run club.
Spot on RoD.....really don't understand some, that can't see it....but heyho!!......Just needs to settle down a tad, take a breath for him to see more options.... Makes our game flow, but most around him not good enough IMO..
Some IMO being a bit harsh on Bentley, yes his mistake....had it not been for him and the post and the bar, we could have been 0-4 down in the first half..
I’ve been one of those Onefor. It’s only now that I’m beginning to see the good player he can turn into. I thought he would turn out to be another of LJ/Ashton’s expensive ‘duds’ but I’m delighted to say I no longer think that.
I’d add that he seems to be almost as good at drawing fouls as Grealish. Maybe we should be encouraging him to get into the box more often? We may end up getting some penalties.
I believe, if he could work on his composure and get a few goals for himself, he would be a good premiership player.......work in progress!!
It seems he’s benefiting hugely from better coaching since Nige has arrived, the skies the limit if he carries on improving at his present rate.
…and he needs to eat a few more pies. I think an intensive Greggs course is in order - he needs to follow Tomlin’s training programme - but stop it earlier than Tomlin did
Of course he was great in the first half, but it was a glaring mistake, an error of judgement and those glaring mistakes/error judgements by various players have been killing our season. For me he is a great shot stopper but obviously has flaws in his game like flapping at crosses, punching/parrying instead of catching and sometimes not coming for a ball when he should and dead ball kicking. There is reason he is playing for us and not in the prem. Sorry if you don't agree that is my opinion, harsh but I believe true.
Agree totally, some of his reflex saves are outstanding, and his one on ones too, he doesn’t commit early and stays big. The problem seems to be when he has time to think his decision making at times is poor, and worst of all he always seems to parry the ball towards the centre of the goal instead of away, he got away with one last night in the first half.
But definitely a decent keeper for us.. mistakes happen with all keepers and players for that matter.. we aren’t in the Premiership so IMO the best we can hope for at our level.. again IMO it wasn’t the mistake that cost us 2 points but the performance overall.. we didn’t look dangerous at all last night, not sure we even worked their keeper.. We got. Lucky last night, could have been all over by half time.. I was surprised and disappointed with our tactics if I’m honest, hardly any pressing or pressure in the final third.. We gelled so much better against Reading.. Pearson needs to sort it out and get the best from the players we have.
I thought Nige commented after a few games in charge what a good player he was, so not sure to do with his coaching.. more like taken a bit of time adapting to the English game and the speed of the championship.. again IMO!!
For me last night was the worst city have played this season-Reminded me off the football under LJ or DH-sideways and backwards with no cutting edge. The only player to try was Massengo- We need some more pace O’Dowda is the only other that can offer this but is made off glass.Wells is never going to score goals in this team-it is not set up to play to his strengths.Unless the ball is put into channels or put at his feet around the penalty box he is not going to get goals. The high ball into him are a waste off time.To many players being played out off position. The bonus is we sit 12th with a very average start to the season which hopefully if we can turn our home form around will keep us around the top 10.
Of course it was the mistake that cost us, just like the mistakes v Blackpool, whether or not we got lucky is totally immaterial sometimes in football like in life you do not get exactly what you deserve, we had basically 90 seconds left to see out and have lost out on 4 points, that is the reality and it's killing us, yet again because of that mistake, we now have to go back to the drawing board instead of tweaking the issues (of which there were many) .
There were two very good saves, also a post and a bar that we were fortunate with, that didn't cost us.... I get your theory, had we played really well 1-0 up and then the mistake happened......but we were just not good enough last night and the performance cost us, not just one mistake.............but that's my opinion.....I'm sure others will share yours!!!
