I was in a certain supermarket earlier where you’d kind of expect a high percentage of mask wearers… about a third, maybe as low as a quarter of people were wearing masks. I wear one in places like that for a number of decent reasons, mostly because my parents are getting on some and have health issues, the other one being it’s not exactly an inconvenience so why not.

for me it was a bit of an eye opener, if people you’d expect to be happy to wear a mask aren’t I really can’t see people accepting another lock down, the government must know this so I can’t see them trying to enforce it knowing how unpopular it’ll be with a large proportion of their voter base.

Good points….as you say, it’s not exactly an inconvenience and hardly having a chain around my neck to put on a mask. I tend to wear one out of politeness to others and ‘cos of the job I do, I’m almost certain to come into close contact with someone who has COVID, so more likely to pass it on.

I will admit though, there have been a couple of times recently that I’ve forgotten and I’m definitely getting more lax in my efforts to wear a mask

Around my way, there's been a decline in mask wearing, but I'd say the vast majority of people are still wearing masks in shops.

Its the total opposite where i am. The vast majority are not wearing masks. My lad has just started A levels at sixth form and the school rules are not to inform any other child or parent if another pupil has Covid. What sort of example/plan is that?!

Maybe some could re-train as nurses, we are going to need them judging by my sis-in-laws social care team. 3 have handed their notice in this week!

For me it’s hit and miss in the local booze, ***s and crisp shop… I’m usually in a a minority of one. However the supermarket was Waitrose and up until today it’s usually a large majority who wear them. Might have just been an anomaly today.

my eldest’s boyfriends mum doesn’t believe in covid and sent him in despite a positive test. I might have rang the school to let them know… they gave the boys mum a royal bollocking by all accounts

I don't wear a mask in shops anymore - are we supposed to? The only places I do wear a mask are on public transport - on buses out of courtesy to the driver, and on trains to possibly protect myself a little, not just from Covid, but any kind of infection. I used to get constant colds when travelling on the tube every day.

A virus that avoids people sitting down to eat a meal and now a virus that avoids people acquainted with one another. Very clever.

It's still required in all shops, public transport, when moving around bars and restaurants, and other places too up here. I work with some guys who travel up from down south and they seem bemused by it now, but still conform.
