It must have been frustrating last season for Neil especially training daily with Power, Scowen and Leadbitter and knowing he was better than all of them. I really hope we can tie him down to a long term contract asap. The fact hes such a huge fan will be a big advantage in keeping him here for the foreseeable
nothing on this earth is better than local boy makes good as far as Sunderland supporters are concerned
Losing yet another promising youngster Francis Okoronkwo who looks to be on his way to Everton , we are going to get around £1 million for him with add ons but as I mentioned on another thread {Child snatchers) he follows in the same path as several others in leaving our club who can’t tie him to a pro contract till he is seventeen . Something needs to be done to prevent this ongoing problem as we are being plundered on an ongoing basis .
just means we have good scouts, he has only been at the club a few months so we as supporters don't know how good he is, and until the FA change the rules, better 1 mill than the usual 200k, as he was always going to get swiped by a Prem team with cash
it might even come in useful for loans where they will look to us more, especially when players like Doyle Sanderson are impressing under our watch
I wouldn't be surprised if he becomes a coach. By all accounts he's an influential voice in the dressing room and he has high standards. However, doesn't seem like we offered Grant a coaching role and he was another who seemed fit for a role. Maybe no time for sentiment anymore within the club and it's 100% focus on the best person for the job.
