Other than last night, it's been swinging hugely throughout. If good bowlers get the chance to bowl in good conditions, wickets will fall.

The Warks match last week was so much down to bad batting. Not this week.

Obviously we'd prefer Yorks and Warks to both lose. But given that is impossible, this early Yorks run chase stumble is good for us. A Warks win with no batting points from either side is arguably the best outcome for us. My rationale being that we might need Yorks to beat Notts next week (eg if we draw Lancs), and a Yorks defeat this week gives us the room to allow them to do that.

Notts desperately need Vince out. If he's still there at stumps they're pretty much screwed.

Stupid Somerset collapsing against part-time spin.

Although you never know how things pan out. It might ultimately transpire that Lancs winning helps us here (but only if we win too!), if we get into a position next week where they need to take a gamble in order to try and beat us.

Decent knock from Dawson. Put on a crucial partnership with Vince.

Weather forecast for tomorrow isn't good, a least it is only day two today and Wednesday is looking good!

I'll take that day. Unless the pitch flattens out drastically we're in a good position to go on and win.

Weather looks awful tomorrow though. And a draw isn't a disaster for Notts. I wouldn't us batting for more than 30 mins on Weds morning, even if it means losing the game. If we're still batting at lunch, trying to get 270+ lead, Notts can just shut up shop.

I think we'll get bowled out well before lunch, whether it's on day 3 or day 4 is in the hands of the weather gods.

Hopefully it doesn't rain for the rest of the day because these are very bowler friendly conditions.

So, a 249 run lead. That ought to be enough, if we can dislodge one or two of the Notts 'real' batsmen
