To be fair if you were dropped after that Cardiff performance you would be well peed off. He gave them the start no issue there. But clearly we were struggling to create. For me Baker and I rate him big time was not the answer out left. Desilva should have been brought on at half time. Matty Janes had a very average game for his standards. Martin and Weimann were not off the standard off late. Semenyo brought nothing to the table when he came on. Needs tweaking against Luton-over to you Nige.
First clean sheet of the season? Vyner worries the crap out of me, spends far too much time in a centre back position, giving any winger/wing back far too much freedom, I lost count the amount of times that he was either unaware or lost track of his man, once in the 2nd half it was just him v 1 striker chasing a long ball and he still managed to lose him. Baker was poor first half but improved 2nd half. With so many problems at full back maybe time for 3 at the back??? We also got caught 2 on 2 far too many times for my liking, somebody really needs to take control of organising midfield ensuring one stays protecting the centre backs. Weimann and Pring had quiet games. Some of our crossing from both flanks was sublime but we do not have the right kind of striker to capitalise on those crosses, it was strange that not once that I can recall did we attempt a low driven cross into the box. The long throws from Kalas (if you can call them that) barely made the near post most of the time. Another **** referee, when their player went down off of the pitch by the Dolman near the end of the match and was allowed to roll back onto the pitch beggared belief, how that is not dissent I don't know? HNM was superb and is improving beyond recognition, January or the Summer might be interesting.
I agree with most of that. Midfield was strange, started poor for the first 10 minutes, then took control for 20 minutes and lost control again for the last 15 minutes of the first half. Had control for the first 25 minutes of the 2nd half, lost it for 10 minutes and regained it for the last 10. To be fair to Martin and Weimann the supply was not good enough for their type of game, we need more to feet in the box. I would try:- Bentley Kalas. Atkinson. Baker Scott. James. Massengo. DaSilva Palmer (Bakinson) (Martin) Martin. Weimann (Wells)
Same team against Luton but Dasilva and Tanner in at full backs, shift HNM in the middle and bring in Semenyo for King to play out wide. 14 is my favourite number but I'm hoping we don't go 14 without a win against Luton
Some say my appearance is as big a deal as the 2nd coming of Jesus.... They'd be right Thanks Wiz! Nice to see you and some of the OG's are still posting on here. I'll be back more regularly now, unfortunately for you lot
a win v Luton will break our jinx but still not get us into top 6... but do we need to be at present? as long as we chug along just outside and the points from 1st to 8th stay spread at about 8pts a good late season run will take us into at least the play off's ….
Another disappointing home result and performance yet again, but surely we have to break this awful run soon ??
I thought that the attendance on Saturday was somewhat lower than I would have expected at this time of year but perhaps it was the 2 games in 4 days that was the reason. Surely even a lower attendance than that could make twice as much noise as I heard during the live broadcast and I often wonder why the crowd aren't baying for blood and goals in a greater fashion. The old adage of the crowd being the 12th man never seems to fit at Ashton Gate and I know in this modern age some of the older ways of motivating your team to better things appear to have vanished in to thin air but surely louder support could be ours with very little effort. Bobbing robins and chugging cider songs have not worked for ages so perhaps it's time to up the ante and find the new motivational anthem that will raise us from the library to the halls of greatness. I have an idea that way too many supporters are too busy looking at their damned smart phones rather than watching the actual game ( a modern trend that drives me crazy) and it requires full participation by both the players and the crowd to make it a success. Where are the drum bangers and trumpet players along side the rattle clackers? Perhaps we need to find out from the punters what could be done to raise the noise level intended to help our team make an opposition team quake in their boots during the journey to the place of sonic booms.
