We gave them loads mate they were poor in front of goal We didn’t set out to defend we just couldn’t do anything else A more dominant performance you will not see and ye were all grateful for a point
Did terry stick to plan A or did he change it as the subs were made. Or is that a ridiculous question
We didn’t do that on purpose, we did it because Swansea didn’t let us do anything else. It’s a good point from a pretty poor performance.
Someone said Swansea put together nearly 650 passes which over 96 minutes is a lot of possession. Some City teams of the past would have been over run this afternoon facing stats like that, but not this lot.
There was nothing excellent about that performance. We were lethargic and lacked any drive to try and score. Save for Ingram and Bernard, we were gash. They could, and should, have scored half a dozen but we were very lucky and managed to wangle a point.
just want hin to be honest with the fans, on another day against a team on there game , we would have been tanked.
We aren’t good enough at this level to sit back and defend as a game plan. We do it because we can’t get out and create anything. The fact we got a point was more down to luck than Terry’s tactical know how
Agreed. They shall not pass is the attitude we need right now. Same again at Ewood Park on Tuesday please. Newly cocky Sheff U next Sat is one we should look to win, they've had a big win today and we can expect the usual bollox when this lot come. https://www.s24su.com/forum/threads/hull-city-away.87806/
Where did luck come into it ? I saw one decent save from a dodgy free kick by Ingham in the first half and a couple of regulation saves. On top of that a couple of desperate appeals for a penalty from the home team. City didn't create a lot but Swansea's failure to score wasn't because of bad luck it was because we kept our shape and heads plus some outstanding defending and the fact that we never gave them an inch.
I thought they were unlucky not to get a penalty ? However you look at it, we can’t keep turning up and creating nothing and think we did well
The problems in midfield and up top out-weigh the positives of two consecutive clean sheets imo. Both Peterborough and Blackpool are managing to score even when they get a pasting. It’s a massive worry and no amount of sugarcoating and empty platitudes about ‘keeping our shape’ change that. Sitting deep and crossing our fingers hoping for a point or three on the counter-attack is an utter dogshit way to play football and it will bite us on the arse.
We did well today, a point away is a good point plus another clean sheet. We need improvement up top obviously but this is work in progress. As I said earlier some past City teams would have rolled over today and conceded a hat full. First objective for any manger is make your team hard to beat, today we were hard to beat. The goals will come.
hmm I think it was more they couldn’t finish, granted it’s a good point but that only because they couldn’t finish and we don’t create anything. If we go 1 down it’s game over. We can play one way, that way today got pushed back and had to defend, we had to defend because we don’t have the players, system or ability to change it
Rather defensive little chap right there ! Fair questions I thought about lack of goal scoring and chances created .. but like most managers around they dont like being questioned about their tactics
I missed the first half, I’m guessing lucky, but the abysmal defensiveness of the tactics is terrible. I’m guessing Man City tell them to get the ball to DeBruyne, Man Utd, get it to Ronaldo, Hull City, get it to Ingram. At one point, Ingram had the ball in his hands, rolled it about 5 yards out to his right, defender has nowhere to go, passes it back, Ingram then forced to quickly pass it to his left, defender then passes it forward, intercepted, not even at the halfway line! What is the point?
Terry's players, tactics and formation. Although a very good point today I fear a long old season with Ehab also sitting at the helm
