We’re not getting Kane on the ball enough and I’m surprised he’s not dropping to get it, but it’s probably because with only Lucas as a real winger, who pretty much all out creative play is going through, there’s nobody to run beyond him. Would like to see Gill on the left to give us another creative option or even Tanguy on in midfield if we want to keep the same system.
Defensively we’ve looked pretty sound but it has to be said that the excellent City performance aside, we’ve needed a penalty and a freak goal from a free kick to win our other two games. Maybe Kane off his arse cheek today?
this is what I was getting at a minute ago. Last season I was hiding behind the sofa because of our defensive displays, but now it’s a bore fest with no one able to get kane into the game. (to be honest, that hasn’t been great for a while either, but it’s become even more apparent in the first few games). We massively needed to sign someone to pull the strings.
Who’d have thought with a midfield three of Hojbjerg, Skipp and Winks plus Dele at LW (not even LW, he’s just wandering around like a headless chicken) we’d look ****ing awful when in possession. Gil and Ndombele have to come on at HT otherwise Palace will continue to dominate and finish a chance.
0-0 HT. That was rubbish. I'd like to see Gil brought on for Skipp at the break, but I don't think it'll happen. The enforced Dier sub has probably forced a bit of caution there, unfortunately. I don't think any tactical changes will be enough, though.
